About this ebook

Betrayed by Family. Tortured by the Enemy. Destined to Destroy the World.

Wynter Reeves lives by three rules: Don't stand out. Blend in. Remain invisible. In a world where individuality is dangerous, being forgettable keeps her alive.

So, when she begins showing signs of a rare disease, it's only a matter of time before she draws the unwanted attention of the State's sinister research facility, the DSD. Apprehended against her will for testing, Wynter becomes the subject of the mysterious Dr. Richter, who is determined to make sense of her condition. No matter the cost.

However, Dr. Richter's intentions are less than noble, and after months of horrifying experimentation, Wynter jumps at the chance to escape her captors. But freedom isn't what she expected, and as her symptoms worsen, she must make a choice. One that will determine not only her future . . .

But the fate of the world.

Join Wynter as she confronts the daunting truth of her existence, navigating treacherous paths and facing the consequences of defying a society that demands conformity. Prepare for an adrenaline-fueled journey, where deception lurks around every corner and the fight for survival takes on a whole new meaning.

ULTRAXENOPIA is the first book in the Project W. A. R. trilogy.

"I would give this 10 stars if I could! It's got action, suspense, and a smidge of a romance. It's got twists and turns that you will not see coming." ★★★★★

"For fans of dystopia, you'll find the elements that are beloved in every dystopian book...and Phipps pulls each of them off in a brilliant way." ★★★★★

"A truly classic dystopian in that it had the dark totalitarian regime, the bleak atmosphere, and terrifying villains." ★★★★★

nothing really mind blasting about this book. i didn't feel the suspense i was expecting. basically, the book contained 3 parts, which is why 3 stars.the book should be more eventful!! 3 parts only? the only reason i gave any stars at all was because of the way it was written. that's all. **SPOILER ALERT ** Concerning the 3 parts, they are 1. the hero gets caught by the DSD 2. the hero escapes and finds Ezra along with rebellion group 3. they go and bump into Doctor Richter, and Rai dies. the end. book 2. i didn't feel intrigued to read book 2 despite the "suspense" cliff hanger

I want to start by saying I love YA dystopian books. I haven't read one in a long time because I feel like most newer YA is either overly focused on romance or is poorly written. I do like a romance subplot, but I want the focus to be the action. Let me just say that Ultraxenopia checked a lot of boxes for me: strong female lead, potential for romantic subplot but not the focus of the story, corrupt government, SCIENCE, rebels, you know, all the good stuff about YA dystopian. So I had really high hopes for this book. What I wasn't expecting was how beautifully it would be written. M.A Phipps has a way of putting words together that sound beautiful, something that I think is missing in a lot of books these days. Not only is the story itself compelling, deep, and fast paced, but the writing is so beautiful that I found myself wanting to take my time with the story (which is something I rarely do anymore). I thought Wynter was a believable main character and at times I was yelling at the book because Wynter doesn't always make the right choices. I like a main character that is flawed because its more realistic than to think someone always magically knows what is the right path to take. I found myself invested in both Ezra and Jenner as characters and bounced back and forth between which one I liked more. Typically I'm drawn to the villains and Dr. Richter is truly my kind of guy. Being a scientist myself I can almost understand how he got to this point. Almost. You know, minus the torture and killing. :) Overall I will say that I was blown away with this debut novel and I can't wait to continue on with the series and see what happens! Thank you M.A Phipps, for pulling me out of my reading slump!
