About this ebook

From the author of My Highland Bride—hailed by Sandy Blair as “an entertaining time-travel story packed with spice, humor, fantasy, and nonstop adventure”—comes a sensual novel featuring a wolf-shifting chieftain who travels centuries to modern-day Scotland to tame his one and only.

Cursed to live forever with neither wife nor child, Ronan Sutherland has watched all he cherishes turn to dust—more than once. For hundreds of years, he’s been trapped behind the mists of Loch Ness, hoping to identify the one woman who is prophesied to break the spell. Now, at last, the fates have aligned, and he’s being sent into the future to fetch her. After a single glimpse, Ronan knows he’s been waiting all his life for this passionate woman.

Unlike her time-traveling sisters, Mairi Sinclair is perfectly content to remain in the present. As a hospital nurse in Edinburgh, she cherishes the opportunity to put her gift of healing powers to good use. But everything changes the morning a mysterious wolf darts in front of her car. Touching the wounded creature’s tawny coat, a tingle surges through her. Yet when she returns with aid, Mairi is shocked to find instead a man with broad shoulders and fire in his eyes—a man who tempts her to unleash the animal within.

For hundreds of years, Ronan Sutherland has been trapped behind the mists and only one woman has been prophesied to break the curse, and when his chance finally arrives he finds that he must travel to the future to fetch her in this captivating romance. Mairi Sincliar is perfectly content to remain in the present putting her gift of healing to good use and the reader can’t help but be captivated when a mysterious wolf darts in front of Mairi’s car and changes everything. There’s no denying the pull of attraction that sizzles between Mairi and Ronan but it will take more than a trip through time to for this relationship to reach its desired outcome as pressures, secrets and lots of emotional turmoil causes confusion and hurt feelings along the way and these strong compelling characters have no trouble ensnaring readers in their turbulent romance in this steady paced and smooth flowing plot full of suspense, excitement, romance and magic. Ronan and Mairi’s relationship provides plenty of angst filled tension and expectation throughout the story with additional anticipation and excitement building as time to lift the curse runs out which of course the evil that brought about the curse to begin with is doing its best to prevent them from achieving that happily ever after. The scenes are well written and full of vivid details that capture the imagination and brings the story to life making it easy to become engrossed in the story as the intriguing events holds the readers in their spell. I have not read the previous books in this series, but this story can be read all on its own with no problem of course the author snagged my attention with the characters of the previous books so I will be remedying that because I was completely captivated by Mairi and Ronan’s story and I am highly anticipating reading Graham’s story when it becomes available…hopefully soon?

After her husband conceived him with a mistress, a witch cursed Ronan to live forever without a wife or children. For hundreds of years, he has lived behind the mists of Loch Ness, watching all those he loves age and die, over and over, while he waits until the fates align and he can claim the one woman who can break the curse. The only problem is, he must time travel to the 21st century to find her. Mairi Sinclair is his perfect match and they both feel it right away. But now Ronan must decide how much he should tell her about the curse and when. He doesn't want to scare her off, but will she trust him if there are too many secrets between them? What will happen when the truth comes out? This book is an enchanting blend of multiple paranormal elements. While not normally my kind of thing, I read this book based on a recommendation of a friend, and to my surprise, I rather enjoyed it. While this novel is part of a series, I read it without having read its predecessors and had no difficulties. Ronan and Mairi set the sheets on fire, and the dialogue is witty, sassy and fun. This is a quick, entertaining read that is great for killing some free time.

This is the first book I have read by Maeve Greyson, but I am pretty sure it's not the last. I didn't realize it was the 3rd book in the series when I started it, but that didn't impact my enjoyment of the story or characters. I would like to go back to read the first 2 and I'm looking forward to the next story. I don't usually like time travel stories, nothing wrong with them, but I don't find them as compelling as other paranormal or sci-fi genres. But I do love me a good shapeshifter or dragon story. That's what drew me to this book to begin with. I really liked the characters Maeve has created in this world with the Sinclairs. At times I thought Mairi was a little childish and her "stubbornness" was more like "bratiness" but in the long run she was still an endearing character. I loved Ronan and I can hear his voice him my head. What is is about a Scottish baroque? She made the characters very realistic. In fact, I was up way past my bedtime the first night I picked it up because I couldn't put it down!
