About this ebook

Patients deserve to feel informed and prepared before radiation therapy begins.

Yet every day, patients are asked to walk into a treatment room, lie on a table, and trust a process they may not fully understand. Being told you need radiation therapy can leave you overwhelmed by uncertainty, questions, and fear of what comes next.

Unlike many radiation therapy resources that focus primarily on clinical information, Let’s Talk Radiation Therapy was created to help patients better understand both the treatment process and the emotional realities of treatment.

Written by a radiation therapist with nearly twenty years of experience guiding patients through treatment every day, this book combines understandable expertise with the calm, approachable guidance patients often struggle to find during treatment.

Inside, patients will gain clarity on:

What to expect during consultation, simulation, and daily treatment

How radiation therapy works and affects cancer cells inside the body

Common short-term side effects and how they may develop

Medical terminology explained in plain, understandable language

How to feel more emotionally prepared and confident throughout treatment

“This book takes a truly original approach to helping patients understand radiation therapy from beginning to end. There is nothing quite like it on the bookshelves.” — Anthony Zietman, MD, FASTRO Radiation Oncologist, Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School

"Fantastic read....I wish I had this two months ago. This is going to be so instrumental for so many people." - Grace, radiation therapy patient
