When Darkness Ends is the third book in the Moments in Boston Series, I have to say this one was by far the best in the series, so unexpected, suspenseful, phenomenal, and emotional. Did I mention emotional? Yeah, it's about two childhood friends Ashe Flynn and Dylan Cole, who went off to Boston University, where they met the third person in the group named Pearl Daniels. How Marni chose to tell the story is unique, with several perspectives, past and present. The actual life events mixed with fictional characters and events are superb. One of the best books for 2021!

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review. There was before. When we were happy. When we had nothing but dreams. When not a single bad thing could ever happen because we were young and in love. And there was after. When the unthinkable occurs, how do you count time, knowing how precious it is? When dreams turn to nightmares, how do you wake up every day and choose to go on? When you have a chance to save another, how can you not? Even if it changes everything. Even if it destroys you. I went into this book blind. I didn't read a description and I had not a clue what the book was about. This is the story of Pearl, Kerry and Ashe. Boy do they have quiet the rollercoaster of a story to tell too. You might want to prepare your heart and your soul and invest in some Kleenex. I was all over the place reading this story. I am still a mess and it has been days since I finished this book. You are going to be trying to figure out this book as your reading but you won't. There is so much suspense in this book but there are equal parts romance in it too. I loved that this book was told in dual points of view too. I loved getting everyone's perspective of the story too. I can't promise that your heart won't break but this book is so worth reading. You are so not going to want to miss this book at all.

" Marni has just cleaved my heart in two with her trademark poignant prose that kept me glued to the pages, and I read till 12 am cause I couldn't put it down. I shed tears and hiccuped and my heart jumped to my throat towards the end. And as much as I love her I was really angry at a sudden plot twist. “Life is going to happen; you don’t have the power to stop it, dollface. So, tuck your body into a ball and roll with each bump.”
