Hi, I’m Matt.
Intervention is my first novel.
A lifetime love of reading had been progressively creating an ever-greater - burning desire to write. When the COVID pandemic hit, it not only created the right environment to dedicate myself to the task - as we were in constant lockdowns, it also sparked a core part of the idea for Intervention.
Whilst Intervention is a suspenseful, political thriller, I enjoy a broad spectrum of genres both fiction and non-fiction. In particular the escapism of action and thriller fiction - especially when the story line feels connected to our political and societal context.
Once I started writing I loved it. During long lock downs in my home state of Victoria in Australia, it became my guilty pleasure. Which was fortunate - as it turned out I was living in what would become the most locked down city in the world!
Writing is not my primary occupation. I work as a Brand Strategy and Positioning Consultant. I have been fortunate where over the first 20 or so years of my career I worked with leading businesses and brands including Unilever, United Distillers, Guinness, Diageo and The Fosters Group. More recently I’ve set up a private consultancy and now work with some great businesses and brands and people.
We live in Australia on the Mornington Peninsula. It’s a beautiful part of the world and with my wife and four kids, are active and busy!
