This a definite page turner even though Vincent is an “idiot” who preached no lies and turned around to lie about being married. He seems like he doesn’t know how to speak love but shows his interest with actions and avoids confrontation like the plaque. This is the first book in The Valiant Trilogy and it is Mackenzie and Vincent's story and omg what a start to a new read. Mackenzie has got a job working at Valiant Industries a very well known company that could help her in her future but in stead of the marketing job they offered her a job as Mr Valiant's personal assistant until his previous assistant returns from maternity leave but will Mackenzie be able to handle not only the job but her arrogant but handsome boss. Mackenzie's first day at work was absolutely awful but she hopes tomorrow her boss will be better but she doesn't want to count on it. What will happen next between Mackenzie and Vincent as things between them come to a head and not in a good way. Omg this is only book one in this trilogy and what a cliff hanger ending as it had me on the edge of my seat as it was so addictive and I can't wait to read the next book to see what happens next. Megan Matthews is an amazing author and writer and I definitely recommend you read this book but just remember that it is not a standalone book. First off this is a 3-part series and ends in a cliffhanger so if you don’t like these types of books then go no further. Megan is bringing us the story of Vincent and Mackenzie. Vincent is the CEO of Valiant Industries and Mackenzie was hired to work for at his business at a different position but she ends up as his personal assistant. Vincent is a jerk of a boss but Mackenzie doesn’t let that bother he because she just goes right back at him. She of course falls for the jerk and he seems hot and cold sending mixed signals to her. There is plenty of push and pull between these two along with drama and steam. The ending was a kicker and I can’t wait to see how their story unfolds.
