Jackson and Erica are best friends, with benefits. This lifestyle works great for both of them since they proclaim to having commitment issues. That is until Erica’s boyfriend Bryce proposes to her on her birthday. Erica decides she needs time to think about the proposal and will let him know when she gets back from her camping trip with Jackson. Every year Jackson and Erica go on an annual camping trip for her birthday and this year is no exception. While Erica is supposed to be deciding about Bryce’s proposal Jackson and her continue on with their “relationship” like nothing has happened. But as the week continues, Jackson starts pushing Erica away, convinced he is doing her a favor. He could never be faithful to one woman and he doesn’t want to ruin Erica’s chance for a HEA. Like most men, Jackson can’t see that by pushing her away he is hurting her more than anyone and Erica starts wondering if maybe her feeling for Jackson are more than friend deep. This book was another amazing reading by Melissa Foster. If you have read and fell in love with her books in the past you will not be disappointed. You won’t be able to put this quick read down. I received an eARC of this book for my honest review and opinion. All ratings and opinions stated are my own.

I almost feel like I could repeat myself over and over when reviewing a book by Melissa Foster, but she hit it out of the park with Jackson's book. I felt the connection between Jackson and Laney from the very beginning - perhaps because their relationship had been developing for so long. But as much as their relationship is about "benefits" as much as it is "friends", their connection is deep. I don't think either of them realized the depth of their connection at the beginning of this book, but their transformation throughout the story was enjoyable to watch. Each has realizations about their relationship with the other, and it rocks what they thought was a solid foundation. There were times that I wanted to smack each of them upside the head and tell them to "catch on" to not only the other's feelings, but their own. The author includes a lot of poignant points in these characters' story - the tattoos that are truly ingenious, the incorporation of the cover photo into their relationship - these are little unique aspects of the story that make the book memorable, and are a hallmark of a Melissa Foster book.

Redundant am I? Melissa Foster should be proud of the Wild Boys After Dark series. She combined sexy tales with emotional journeys of healing, wisdom,love and forgiveness. What I find so compelling about this series is that each man handled the tragic events surrounding their father's death in a different way. Logan felt guilty for not protecting them when they needed him most. Heath figures being in control will not leave him vulnerable. Jackson and Cooper seem more analytical. Logically they know nothing could have been done but are emotionally tormented by it all. Jackson's torment ate at him. It almost cost him his best friend Laney. He internalized all the pain and push everyone away. His father's death felt like a rejection to him and he did not want to feel that pain again. I received an ARC of Jackson (Wild Boys After Dark #3) for an honest review. With all of these exceptional stories Cooper(Wild Boys After Dark #4) has a lot to live up to
