About this ebook

Time changes people...and every once in a while it can heal a broken heart.

Against her better judgment, Abigail Cahill is coming home. Abigail's family is set on proving that she belongs in Three Creeks with them. Their childhood best friend, Kent Parker is willing to help them give Abigail a proper welcome.

From the beginning, Kent makes it clear that he has zero interest in a serious relationship. Who cares that every time he is around Abigail he has the urge to punch anyone in the face that looks at her?

Abigail is okay with having the small town hunk as a pal for her mini-adventures. She's not so thrilled that he chases away any guy that takes an interest in her.

In this feel-good, love story, Abigail discovers the beauty of second chances and the meaning behind Welcome Home.

Odd Book, Too Much Telling This book just struck me as odd. I had a hard time getting into it, and I don't know if I really ever did. Trying to tease out what didn't work for me, I think that the book has too much telling; the main character tells us a lot. The adage in fiction writing is show, don’t tell; this is where the book misses the mark. It had so much of this in places that the book almost felt like it was from the omniscient viewpoint, even though it wasn't. I am typically a fan of small-town romances that have a bit of sibling family drama, but this one never clicked for me. I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

Welcome Home is the first book in the "A Three Creeks, Montana Novel". I loved this story and find it to be honest and heartwrenching. Words can hurt someone badly enough to scar them for life. The characters in this story are well developed and interesting. The storyline is well written and engaging, with heartache, pain, coming home, misunderstandings, redemption, and a chance for love. I am looking forward to reading more books by this author. I read and reviewed this book with no obligation.

About the author

Twenty years ago, Merri Maywether went on a date with a very sweet man from Montana. Three weeks later, they were engaged and they have lived happily ever after.

If you are looking for a feel-good, happily ever after, small-town experience, I have a story for you. When I write my romance novels, the characters are inspired by the people I see on a day to day basis. Up here in what I like to call the far, far north, people work hard, live fiercely, and love knowing that they have a community behind them. When I'm not writing, I'm testing out an adventure that will end up in a book or trying a character's favorite recipe.
