The instant New York Times bestseller from Shark Tank star and Fubu Founder Daymond John on why starting a business on a limited budget can be an entrepreneur's greatest competitive advantage.

Daymond John has been practicing the power of broke ever since he started selling his home-sewn t-shirts on the streets of Queens. With a $40 budget, Daymond had to strategize out-of-the-box ways to promote his products. Luckily, desperation breeds innovation, and so he hatched an idea for a creative campaign that eventually launched the FUBU brand into a $6 billion dollar global phenomenon.  But it might not have happened if he hadn’t started out broke - with nothing but hope and a ferocious drive to succeed by any means possible.

Here, the FUBU founder and star of ABC’s Shark Tank shows that, far from being a liability, broke can actually be your greatest competitive advantage as an entrepreneur. Why?  Because starting a business from broke forces you to think more creatively.  It forces you to use your resources more efficiently. It forces you to connect with your customers more authentically, and market your ideas more imaginatively. It forces you to be true to yourself, stay laser focused on your goals, and come up with those innovative solutions required to make a meaningful mark.

Drawing his own experiences as an entrepreneur and branding consultant, peeks behind-the scenes from the set of Shark Tank, and stories of dozens of other entrepreneurs who have hustled their way to wealth, John shows how we can all leverage the power of broke to phenomenal success. You’ll meet:

· Steve Aoki, the electronic dance music (EDM) deejay who managed to parlay a series of $100 gigs into becoming a global superstar who has redefined the music industry
· Gigi Butler, a cleaning lady from Nashville who built cupcake empire on the back of a family  recipe, her maxed out credit cards, and a heaping dose of faith
· 11-year old Shark Tank guest Mo Bridges who stitched together a winning clothing line with just his grandma’s sewing machine, a stash of loose fabric, and his unique sartorial flair

When your back is up against the wall, your bank account is empty, and creativity and passion are the only resources you can afford, success is your only option. Here you’ll learn how to tap into that Power of Broke to scrape, hustle, and dream your way to the top.
New York Times bestseller

What makes things popular?

If you said advertising, think again. People don’t listen to advertisements, they listen to their peers. But why do people talk about certain products and ideas more than others? Why are some stories and rumors more infectious? And what makes online content go viral?

Wharton marketing professor Jonah Berger has spent the last decade answering these questions. He’s studied why New York Times articles make the paper’s own Most E-mailed List, why products get word of mouth, and how social influence shapes everything from the cars we buy to the clothes we wear to the names we give our children. In this book, Berger reveals the secret science behind word-of-mouth and social transmission. Discover how six basic principles drive all sorts of things to become contagious, from consumer products and policy initiatives to workplace rumors and YouTube videos.

Contagious combines groundbreaking research with powerful stories. Learn how a luxury steakhouse found popularity through the lowly cheese-steak, why anti-drug commercials might have actually increased drug use, and why more than 200 million consumers shared a video about one of the seemingly most boring products there is: a blender. If you’ve wondered why certain stories get shared, e-mails get forwarded, or videos go viral, Contagious explains why, and shows how to leverage these concepts to craft contagious content. This book provides a set of specific, actionable techniques for helping information spread—for designing messages, advertisements, and information that people will share. Whether you’re a manager at a big company, a small business owner trying to boost awareness, a politician running for office, or a health official trying to get the word out, Contagious will show you how to make your product or idea catch on.
Life is too short Calvin, Im not ready to go home yet, and I am sure that God isnt ready for me to take my place on the thrown as of yet. So I tell you guys that they better wrap it up before they slap it, or they will be six feet under getting slapped by there friend Mr. Satin himself. So you are saying Stephen that you have never penetrated someone unwrapped? Put it like this man, back in the days there was not all these diseases as it is now. If we did anything, (which we did) we got a shot in the ass and we were able and ready again. Those were the days. There isnt any one from the old school that cant say that they didnt slide it in with out a rubber, they would be lying. But now man, I dont care if you are Shemar Moore, I want to cover up. Dont get me wrong, not saying that he has anything, but I want to protect myself. I plan on being around for a long time.

Maybe thats how Calvin lost his life, when he was Gay banged. Even though he was beaten real bad, broken ribs, fractured jaw. But those four guys had penetrated him, and told him that he needs to get out of town. We dont like your kind here, you put a bad name on us guys. What I dont understand about these so call men, and I did say so call men. If they were this so call str8t, why did they penetrate Calvin. That has me to believe that there are very few so call str8t guys out there. In my opinion every guy likes to get there we-we wet from time to time by another guy. They dont want to admit it, because it would take away from there man hood. But I hate to say that there man hood was already taken when they first laid eyes on another man. So dont judge me because of what I am, just love me for who I am.

In a world filled with uncertainty and terrorism, many people find themselves distraught by the news they hear every day. Bestselling political and business author Michael Solomon may be turning the political world upside down with his new novel and timely masterpiece “The Conversion Prophecy.”

In his first novel, sure to be a blockbuster, Solomon takes the reader through a journey of how the entire balance of global economic power will change forever. Life on earth will take on a new meaning, as everything from energy to food supplies, transportation to communications and everything else needed to sustain life will be controlled by one terrorist state and a zealot who has the ability to control it all. Peace, in the name of one religion, Islam, will threaten to dominate mankind.

What Solomon has developed is a new and different form of terrorism – one, which does not require the firing of a single shot or the shedding of one drop of blood. However, it could lead to a new world order.

This page turner will have you wondering if a Manchurian Candidate does really exist. The author takes us from the halls of a Mosque in Indonesia to the highest plateau of the political arena in Washington, where a real life plot has developed to take control of the entire economic balance of the global corporate world and destroy life as we know it. Can this plot be derailed before it begins? Only one man with the help of a secret society, that makes the Illuminati look like child’s play, can stop it. But can he stop it in time?

Although fiction the pages of this international political thriller will leave you wondering can this really happen – or has it already begun? Has the author hit another home run? After you read “The Conversion Prophecy” you will believe he has.

This intelligent, intriguing historical novel weaves together both fact and fiction, bringing the world of the controversial Latin poet Ovid to vivid life. A great book for everybody, including students in Roman history. It is the year 14 CE. Emperor Augustus dies without pardoning Ovid, Rome’s darling, whom he banished to the border of the Roman Empire for reasons comprehensible but never named. Ovid is now deserted by his protecting innocence, forced to question life, the absurdity of success and the horror of failure. He must reinvent himself and change more profoundly than the characters of his acclaimed Metamorphoses, if he and his poems are to survive. Ovid’s journey out of exile, be it along the edge of the known world where he enters places alien even to his imagination, or in Rome where he can no longer recognise the people he used to know, transforms him into a man who is no more obsessed with his own mortality, but accepts the consequences of his own choices. He refuses to be anyone’s scapegoat, confronts friends and enemies, and finally decides to write for posterity rather than glory. Carefully researched, this novel is based on fact blended with unconventional theories about the strange and mythical places of this ancient world, including the western shore of the Black Sea and the Lower Danube. Michael Solomon travelled through the places described on Ovid’s journey, including Ovid’s birthplace, Sulmona, the city surrounded by the impressive Abruzzi Mountains, seeking these landscapes that might be the same today as they have been two thousand years ago and which inspired the man and ultimately this book.
