Rett has been lurking in the background of a couple of books now. Super spy of the H'thor, he has embedded himself with the rebels. But he's not fulfilling all his spy duties - he's been holding back some very big secrets from his bosses. Oh, and he found his Omega but can't act on every instinct he has! Anya has become tough, strategic, and willing to die to save her people from these invaders. But when a chance observation leads to the realisation that "Bas" is actually an enemy agent her grasp on what is true and what is a lie unravels. Now they have to take a chance on each other and either save themselves or help another group of Omegas and their "guardian" get to safety. Great addition to the series. The world is really building now, showing the H'thor are more than the L'crav and that there are other ways to conquer a planet. Anya and Rett are a brilliant pairing and completely equal - as long as it's not where her safety or their pleasure is concerned lol. Nikk and Cassie are shaping up as an interesting couple too!

I really enjoyed this story! It was great to finally get to see Anya and Rett come together with Rett getting to show his alpha side. This is the 5th book in the series and having read the previous ones, I knew both characters and that Rett was undercover but we get soo much more in this one. This can be read as a standalone though. I loved watching these two and how Rett understands Anya. He has a different perspective from being undercover and knows that these Omegas are different and doesn't see it as a bad thing. I love how he embraces the fighter/soldier that Anya is and doesn't want to change her. This story has action and intrigue as well as the connection between Anya and Rett. There are also some surprises involved and I can't wait to for the next book! The characters were great and the story pulled me in from beginning to end. I truly enjoyed watching these two characters come together and the teasing hints of some future match ups. I love watching these human Omegas flip everything these alphas have previously known on its head. These women are fighters and strong and the fact that they are omegas doesn't make them weak and instantly and always obediently submissive. It takes the right alpha to win and earn that submissiveness. I loved it! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

She was addicted to coffee and chocolate, but unfortunately both now dislike her.

Susan Hayes lives on Vancouver Island off the Canadian west coast where the waters are patrolled by orcas and the sighting of snowflakes leads to citywide panic. She’s jumped out of perfectly good airplanes on purpose and accidentally swum with sharks on the Great Barrier Reef.
