নায়িকা হলো বিশেষ গুণে অন্বিত যুবতী এবং ধনকুবের একমাত্র মেয়ে। নায়ক বিলাতফেরত যুবক। বাবার পছন্দসই কন্যাকে বিয়ে না করার কারণ ত্যাজ্যপুত্র হয়ে নায়িকার বাসায় আশ্রিত হয়। বিশেষ গুণের কারণ নায়িকা প্রতিবন্ধীর মত জীবনযাপন করে। নায়ক নায়িকার দূর্বলতা ধরতে পারে এবং বুঝিয়ে বলার পর নায়িকা অন্যদের মত স্বাভাবিক হয়। মা নায়ককে তাড়িয়ে নায়িকাকে নামিদামী পাত্রের সাথে বিয়ে দিতে চাইলে বিপত্তির উতপত্তি হয়। নায়ক তাড়িত হয়ে বাসা ভাড়া করে এবং পরে বাবা এবং নায়িকা মিলে তাকে খুঁজে বার করে তাদের বিয়ে হয়। আশ্চর্যজনকভাবে একই প্রতিবেশিত্বে নায়কের নানার বসত এবং নায়িকার বাবার সাথে পূর্বপরিচিত।
