About this ebook

This gripping New York Times bestseller tells the true story of a Hamas insider who rejected his violent destiny and pursued peace . . . at the risk of everything.

Since he was a small boy, Mosab Hassan Yousef has had an inside view of the deadly terrorist group Hamas and the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. The oldest son of Sheikh Hassan Yousef, a founding member of Hamas and its most popular leader, young Mosab assisted his father for years in his political activities while being groomed to assume his legacy, politics, status . . . and power. But everything changed when Mosab turned away from terror and violence and embarked on a spiritual journey, embracing instead the teachings of another famous Middle East leader. Son of Hamas contains:
  • new information about the world’s most dangerous terrorist organization and unveils the truth about Mosab’s own role
  • details of his agonizing separation from family and homeland
  • the dangerous decision to make his newfound faith public
  • his belief that the Christian mandate to “love your enemies” is the only way to peace in the Middle East
Now available with a chapter about events since the book’s release such as the revelation of Mosab’s Israeli intelligence handler’s true identity, and Homeland Security’s effort to deport the author.

This is an amazing tale, almost too startling to be true. Young Mosab, the eldest son of a Hamas cleric, goes through many harrowing adventures. Finally, he becomes a Christian. Mosab grows up in the 1980s and 1990s, first throwing rocks at the Israeli Defense forces. He ends up working with Shin Bet, the Israeli version of the CIA. After his collaboration with Shin Bet for several years, he finally gets tired of being a spy and quits, with a demand to move to the United States. They accede to his demand, and when the book ends, Mosab is getting along, with difficulty, somewhere in Southern California. More power to him. I'm glad he's on the side of Christianity and the United States. He would be a formidable opponent.

A very well written book. It definitely gives an interesting perspective on extremist groups. Forced to betray his father for his father's own safety, he is forced to struggle with moral concepts and absolute right and wrong. Ten years of working with the Shin Bet targeting extremists makes for an exciting book, while Mosab Yousef searches for truth. I would definitely recommend this book to any interested readers looking for a simply outstanding book. The plot is great, it is a true account, and it has thought inspiring situations Yousef is forced into because of his father's involvement in Hamas. I loved this book and you will too.

really good book... doesn't lack much and is well edited. it is better to be familiar with some of the land and people already or I don't think I would have read it. it's a tough decision to leave any power or money for the unknown... i'm facing that decision right now.
