Nabi Seth AS atau Nabi Syits AS atau Nabi Set AS adalah anak laki-laki dari Nabi Adam AS dan Hawa (Eve). Ia dilahirkan pada saat Adam berumur 130 tahun (Kejadian 5:3). Nabi Syits AS merupakan saudara muda dari Qabil dan Habil (Kain dan Habel).

Menurut kitab Perjanjian Adam, mengisahkan bahwa Adam, ketika mengetahui bahwa ajalnya telah dekat, memanggil Set ke sisinya. Ia menyuruh Set kembali ke Taman Eden, masuk dan mengambil tiga benih dari buah Pohon Kehidupan. Adam kemudian meminta Seth kembali kepadanya dan menempatkan ketiga benih itu di mulutnya sebelum menguburkan jenazahnya.

Nabi Seth AS melakukan apa yang diminta ayahnya dan pergi ke Taman Eden. Di gerbang taman itu berdirilah Penghulu Malaikat Mikail, yang menanyakan tujuan Set. Set memberitahukannya, dan Mikail mengizinkannya masuk, dan menunjukkan kepadanya pohon kehidupan itu. Set mengumpulkan tiga benih dari buah pohon itu dan kemudian kembali, melalui pintu gerbang, dan kembali ke ayahnya, yang saat ini telah meninggal. Ia menggali kuburan untuk Adam, dan menguburkannya, setelah menempatkan ketiga benih itu di mulutnya lalu menutup liang kuburnya.

Dalam kitab Kejadian dari Kitab Suci Ibrani dan Alkitab, adalah salah satu anak (kemungkinan putra ketiga) dari Adam dan Hawa, dan merupakan adik laki-laki dari Kain dan Habel. Ia dilahirkan setelah Habel (Habil) dibunuh oleh Kain (Qabil). Nama Set disebut sepuluh kali dalam Alkitab, yaitu tujuh kali di kitab Kejadian, sekali di kitab Bilangan, Kitab 1 Tawarikh, dan Injil Lukas.

Nabi Set AS bagi Nabi Adam AS adalah seorang anak yang "menurut rupa dan gambarnya". Set diberikan oleh Allah SWT sebagai pengganti Habel yang dibunuh. Ia mempunyai seorang anak yang bernama Enos pada usia 105 tahun dan hidup hingga mencapai usia 912 tahun. Melalui keturunan Set dilahirkanlah Nabi Nuh, Nabi Abraham, Nabi Daud, hingga akhirnya menurunkan Nabi Isa.

Menurut kisah Islam, setelah kematian Habil, Adam sangatlah marah kepada Qabil. Kemudian Adam memiliki anak kembar kembali bernama Syits (Set/Seth) dan 'Azura. Syits memiliki arti "hadiah", karena Allah telah memberikan hadiah kepada Adam berupa seorang anak soleh, setelah kematian anaknya yang bernama Habil. Syits selain sebagai anak yang berbakti, ia diyakini sebagai seorang nabi dan rasulallah. Sebagai seorang nabi, Syits menerima perintah-perintah dari Allah yang ditulis dalam 50 suhuf/sahifah.

Menurut keterangan Ibnu Abbas, ketika Nabi Syits AS dilahirkan, Nabi AdamAS  sudah berusia 930 tahun. Adam sengaja memilih Syits sebab anaknya yang satu ini memiliki kelebihan dari segi keilmuan, kecerdasan, ketakwaan dan kepatuhan dibandingkan dengan semua anaknya yang lain. Adam mengajarkan semua pengetahuan yang ia miliki kepada Syits. Ia mengajarkan bagaimana menyembah Allah dan beribadah yang lainnya. Setelah kematian Adam, Syits memimpin anak cucu Adam. Ia memimpin dengan peraturan dan hukum Allah, ia membawa persatuan diantara orang-orang disekitarnya.

Wahab bin Munabbih mengatakan, ketika Nabi Adam AS wafat, Nabi Syits AS telah berusia 400 tahun. Syits telah diwasiati oleh Adam untuk memerangi saudaranya, Qabil. Dia pergi memerangi Qabil dan akhirnya perang itu pun berkecamuk. Itulah perang pertama yang terjadi antara anak-anak Adam di muka bumi. Dalam peperangan itu, Syits memperoleh kemenangan dan dia menawan Qabil. Nabi Syits AS kemudian memimpin anak cucu Adam dan ia memimpin dengan peraturan dan hukum Allah SWT, ia membawa persatuan dan perdamaian diantara orang-orang disekitarnya.

Nabi Isa AS atau Nabi Jesus AS adalah nabi penting dalam agama Islam dan merupakan salah satu dari Ulul Azmi. Dalam kitab suci Al-Qur'an, ia disebut Isa bin Maryam atau Isa al-Masih. Ia diangkat menjadi nabi pada tahun 29 M dan ditugaskan berdakwah kepada Kaum Bani Israil di Palestina.

Namanya disebutkan sebanyak 25 kali di dalam Al-Quran. Cerita tentang Isa kemudian berlanjut dengan pengangkatannya sebagai utusan Allah SWT, penolakan oleh Bani Israil dan berakhir dengan pengangkatan dirinya ke surga.

Kata Isa ini diperkirakan berasal dari bahasa Aram, Eesho atau Eesaa.

Kemudian, ia diyakini mendapatkan gelar dari Allah SWT dengan sebutan Ruhullah dan Kalimatullah. Karena Nabi Isa AS dicipta dengan kalimat Allah "Jadilah!", maka terciptalah Nabi Isa AS, sedangkan gelar ruhullah artinya ruh dari Allah SWT karena Nabi Isa AS langsung diciptakan Allah SWT dengan meniupkan ruh kedalam rahim Maryam binti Imran (Virgin Mary).

Narasi Qur'an tentang kehidupan Nabi Isa AS dimulai dari kelahiran Maryam sebagai putri dari Imran, berlanjut dengan tumbuh kembangnya dalam asuhan Nabi Zakariya AS, serta kelahiran Nabi Yahya AS. Kemudian Al-Qur'an menceritakan keajaiban kelahiran Nabi Isa AS sebagai anak Siti Maryam tanpa ayah.

(Ingatlah), ketika Malaikat berkata: "Hai Maryam, seungguhnya Allah menggembirakan kamu (dengan kelahiran seorang putera yang diciptakan) dengan kalimat (yang datang) daripada-Nya, namanya Al Masih Isa putera Maryam, seorang terkemuka di dunia dan di akhirat dan termasuk orang-orang yang didekatkan (kepada Allah). (Ali 'Imran: 45)

Dikisahkan pula bahwa selama Nabi Isa AS berada didunia, ia tidak menikahi seorang wanita karena ia terlebih dahulu diangkat oleh Allah SWT kelangit. Akan tetapi, ada riwayat yang mengatakan bahwa Isa akan menikah dengan salah satu umat Nabi Muhammad SAW ketika ia turun dari langit, kejadian ini dikisahkan menjelang akhir zaman.

Ajaran Islam menganggap Nabi Isa AS atau Jesus AS hanya sebagai utusan Allah SWT saja. Kepercayaan yang menganggap Isa sebagai Allah atau Anak Allah, menurut Islam adalah perbuatan syirik (mengasosiasikan makhluk sama dengan Allah), dan dengan demikian dianggap sebagai suatu penolakan atas konsep Keesaan Tuhan (tauhid/pure monotheism).

Islam melihat Nabi Isa AS (Jesus AS) sebagai manusia biasa yang mengajarkan bahwa keselamatan datang dengan melalui kepatuhan manusia kepada kehendak Tuhan dan hanya dengan cara menyembah Allah SWT saja. Dengan demikian, Nabi Isa AS dalam ajaran Islam dianggap sebagai seorang muslim, begitu pula dengan semua nabi Islam. Islam dengan demikian menolak konsep trinitas dalam Ketuhanan Nasrani.

Kaum Muslim meyakini bahwa Nabi Isa AS adalah sebagai seorang nabi pendahulu Muhammad SAW, dan menyatakan bahwa setelah ia akan muncul seorang nabi terakhir, sebagai penutup dari para nabi utusan Tuhan. Hal ini berdasarkan dari ayat Al-Qur'an, di mana Isa menyatakan tentang seorang rasul yang akan muncul setelah dia, yang bernama Ahmad. Islam mengasosiasikan Ahmad sebagai Muhammad. Kaum muslim juga berpendapat bahwa bukti Nabi Isa AS telah memberitahukan tentang akan hadirnya seorang nabi terakhir yaitu Nabi Muhammad SAW ada di dalam kitabnya.

Ketika itu kaum Muslimin sedang sibuk menyiapkan angkatan perang untuk menghadapi Perang Badar. Rasulullah SAW tengah melakukan pemeriksaan terakhir terhadap tentara Muslimin yang pertama-tama dibentuk, dan segera akan diberangkatkan di medan jihad di bawah komando beliau.

Ketika Rasulullah sedang sibuk-sibuknya, tiba-tiba seorang anak laki-laki berusia kurang dari tiga belas tahun datang menghadap beliau. Anak itu kelihatan cerdas, terampil, cermat, dan teliti. Di tangannya tergenggam sebuah pedang yang panjangnya melebihi tinggi badannya.

Dia berjalan tanpa ragu-ragu dan tanpa takut melewati barisan demi barisan menuju Rasulullah SAW. Begitu berada di depan Rasulullah, dia berkata, “Saya bersedia mati untuk Engkau, wahai Rasulullah, izinkanlah saya pergi jihad bersama engkau, memerangi musuh-musuh Allah di bawah panji-panjimu.”

Rasulullah menengok anak itu dengan gembira dan takjub. Beliau menepuk-nepuk pundak anak itu tanda kasih dan simpati. Tetapi beliau menolak permintaan anak itu, karena usianya yang sangat muda. Anak itu pulang kembali membawa pedangnya, tergesek-gesek menyentuh tanah. Dia sedih dan kecewa, lantaran permintaannya untuk menyertai Rasulullah dalam peperangan pertama yang akan dihadapi beliau, ditolak.

Ternyata dari kejauhan ibu anak itu, Nuwar binti Malik, mengikuti dari belakang. Ia pun tak kalah sedihnya. Dia ingin melihat anaknya berjuang di bawah panji-panji Rasulullah. Dalam angan-angannya terbayang, alangkah bahagianya ayah anak itu sekiranya dia masih hidup, melihat anaknya dapat mendekatkan diri kepada Rasulullah SAW, dan berjihad bersamanya.

Tetapi, anak Anshar yang cerdas dan pintar ini tidak lekas putus asa. Walaupun dia ditolak Rasulullah untuk menjadi prajurit karena usianya masih sangat muda, dia berpikir mencari jalan lain yang tidak ada hubungannya dengan usia. Pikirannya yang tajam segera menemukan jalan. Jalan itu ialah di bidang ilmu dan hafalan.

Prophet Muhammad SAW from Mecca, unified Arabia into a single religious polity under Islam faith. Believed by Muslims to be a prophet and messenger of God, Muhammad is almost universally considered by Muslims as the last prophet sent by God to mankind. While non-Muslims generally regard Muhammad as the founder of Islam, Muslims consider him to have restored the unaltered original monotheistic faith of Prophet Adam, Prophet Abraham, Prophet Moses, Prophet Jesus, and other prophets.

Born approximately in 570 CE in the Arabian city of Mecca, Prophet Muhammad SAW was orphaned at an early age; he was raised under the care of his paternal uncle Abu Talib. After his childhood Muhammad primarily worked as a merchant. Occasionally he would retreat to a cave in the mountains for several nights of seclusion and prayer; later, at age 40, he reported at this spot,that he was visited by Angel Gabriel (Jibril) and received his first revelation from God. Three years after this event prophet Muhammad SAW started preaching these revelations publicly, proclaiming that "God is One".

Prophet Muhammad, may the mercy and blessings of God be upon him, is the man beloved by more than 1.2 billion Muslims.  He is the man who taught us patience in the face of adversity, and taught us to live in this world but seek eternal life in the hereafter.  It was to Prophet Muhammad that God revealed the Quran.  Along with this Book of guidance God sent Prophet Muhammad, whose behavior and high moral standards are an example to us all.  Prophet Muhammad’s life was the Quran.  He understood it, he loved it and he lived his life based on its standards.  He taught us to recite the Quran, to live by its principles and to love it.  When Muslims declare their faith in One God, they also declare their belief that Muhammad is the slave and final messenger of God. 

When a Muslim hears Muhammad’s name mentioned they ask God to send blessings upon him.  Prophet Muhammad was a man, a human being just like any other man, but it is his love for humanity that sets him apart.  Muslims love Prophet Muhammad, but it is his love for us, that makes him a man like no other.  He longed for Paradise not only for himself but also for all of us.  He wept tears not for himself but for his Ummah, and for humanity.  He was often heard to cry "O God, my Ummah, my Ummah".

Muslims do not worship Prophet Muhammad; they understand that he is only a man.  However, he is a man worthy of our utmost respect and love.  Prophet Muhammad loved humanity so much that he would weep out of fear for them.  He loved his Ummah with such deep and profound devotion that God remarked on the depth of his love for us in Quran.

Prophet Muhammad taught us to love God and to obey Him.  He taught us to be kind to each other, to respect our elders, and care for our children.  He taught us that it was better to give than to receive and that each human life is worthy of respect and dignity.  He taught us to love for our brothers and sisters what we love for ourselves.  Prophet Muhammad taught us that families and communities are essential, and he pointed out that individual rights although important are not more important than a stable, moral society.  Prophet Muhammad taught us that men and women are equal in the sight of God and that no one person is better then another except in respect to his or her piety and devotion to God.

Who is Prophet Muhammad SAW ?  Quite simply he is the man who will stand before God on the day of Requital and beg God to have mercy on us.  He will intercede for us. Muslims love him because he is the slave and messenger of God, he is a mercy to humankind and his gentleness, and devotion to humanity is unprecedented....

 Development carries the notion of enhancement of one’s capabilities and potentials.  It implies a forward movement from a given position to a position of greater achievement, opportunity and benefit.  In order to develop, individually or collectively, it is necessary to define the goals one wishes to achieve, factors that influence development, and the process of achieving the desired goals for development.  Each human being is born with some basic faculties.  How these faculties are molded depends on inherent capacities, nurturing environment and other external influences.

Islam places a great deal of emphasis on ‘self-development’ where an individual takes the responsibility for understanding the purpose of human life, and for shaping that life in the best possible manner, for one’s own benefit and the benefit of the society at large; Islam also provides comprehensive guidance to achieve this goal.

Human development consists of processes of growth and change that takes place from birth to the end of life.  The development process is externally influenced from sensory inputs through the organs, and it is internally self-propelled from things which happen within the human body and mind.  Our focus here is the development of the human mind, which takes place through sensory inputs and internal mental processes.  This development includes learning through the senses and cognition that occurs when learning is abstracted into knowledge for subsequent use.

Islam identifies two sources which play the roles of nurturing or corrupting human development.  Inspiration from divine guidance nurtures human development.  Not paying attention to divine guidance and succumbing to conspiracies, arising from within or externally from one’s environment, corrupts human development.

Inner peace (or peace of mind) refers to a state of being mentally and spiritually at peace, with enough knowledge and understanding to keep oneself strong in the face of discord or stress. Being "at peace" is considered by many to be healthy (homeostasis) and the opposite of being stressed or anxious. Peace of mind is generally associated with bliss, happiness and contentment.

Peace of mind, serenity, and calmness are descriptions of a disposition free from the effects of stress. In some cultures, inner peace is considered a state of consciousness or enlightenment that may be cultivated by various forms of training, such as prayer, meditation, T'ai Chi Ch'uan or yoga, for example. Many spiritual practices refer to this peace as an experience of knowing oneself.

People have difficulties embracing their inner spirituality because the everyday stressors get the best of them and finding peace and happiness in the little joys of life can seem like a lot of work, and results don’t seem all that gratifying. Achieving spirituality is a step-by-step process; there are ways through which you can get more spiritual every day.

Inner peace is the source of all peace. When a person is at harmony with himself, he is able to live in harmony with others. 

Allah says: “When you enter houses, greet yourselves with peace.” [Qur’an, 24:61] 

Believers recite the following words in all of their prayers: “Peace be upon us and upon Allah’s pious servants.” 

In the Qur’an, we encounter the word “self” being used in the context a group of people. Indeed, it is from the depths of the self that peace radiates forth. 

Inner peace requires that a person’s relationship with himself is clear, and that his goals and objectives are understood and at harmony with his inner being. Indeed, after knowledge of the Lord, the most important thing for a person to have knowledge of is knowledge of his self and how to perfect it and purify it. He needs to be sensitive to his own gifts and talents, aware of his weaknesses and strengths. Would he describe himself as patient or hasty, forthright or timid, tenacious or easily bored? A person needs to know the truth about himself so he can go make good progress in a direction where he can best capitalize on his strengths and potential. 

This does not mean that a person must explore the nature of his existence and of the human soul. Such knowledge is outside of our grasp except for what is revealed to us in the sacred texts. Allah says: “They ask you about the soul. Say: The soul is from the affair of my Lord, and you have not been given of knowledge save a little.” [Qur’an, 17: 85] 

At the same time, it is quite possible for a person to become acquainted with the dimensions of his personality, his latent talents, and his true nature. He can then use this knowledge to help him toward what is good and to safeguard him from misfortune.  Islamic Law takes a person’s nature into account and often legislates in accordance with it without blame or reproach. This applies even to the Prophets and Messengers when they acted according to their instincts and their natures, for they were human beings, no more and no less. 

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “We are more deserving of doubt than Abraham was when he said: ‘My Lord, show me how you resurrect the dead.’ And (Allah) said ‘Do you not believe?’ And he said: ‘Yes, but it is just to make my heart content.’ And may Allah have mercy on Lot, for he had betaken himself to a powerful support. Had I languished in prison as long as Joseph had, I would have complied with their demands.” 

Abraham (peace be upon him) had sought after knowledge and desired to be acquainted with the true nature of things. This was just to satisfy his natural, human curiosity. When Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “I would have complied with their demands” he was alluding to our natural, human love of liberty and freedom and our loathing of being confined and having our potentials held back, especially for a long period of time. 

Moses (peace be upon him) knew himself well, and he was frank about his feelings, speaking about them unequivocally and without shame. He spoke about his natural fears when he said: “And I had fled from you when I was afraid of you.” And: “Our Lord! Truly, we fear that he will fall upon us or transgress against us.” When a person knows himself in this way and accepts himself, it keeps him to what is within his natural capacity and his abilities and defines for him his goals so he can go forward with a clear vision.

The average human being in the developed world battles sadness and worry on a daily basis.  While the majority of the world’s population confront extreme poverty, famine, conflict and despair those of us privileged to lead relatively easy lives must tackle fear, stress, and anxiety.  Why are those of us blessed with riches beyond compare immersed in loneliness and desperation?  We are living in a time of confusion, we try as we might, yet gathering material possessions can do nothing to mend broken hearts, and shattered souls.

Now, more than at any other time in human kind’s history, stress, anxiety, and psychological problems are taking a tremendous toll on the human condition.  Religious beliefs should afford a sense of comfort however; it seems that 21st century man has lost the ability to connect to God.  Pondering the meaning of life no longer overcomes a feeling of abandonment.  This desire to acquire material possessions, which in some way validates our reason for being, has become the balm that soothes our troubled souls.  Why is this so?

We have the best of everything readily available, yet the reality is we have nothing.  Nothing that comforts the soul.  Beautiful furnishings do not hold our hand in the darkest night.  The latest entertainment centre does not wipe our tears or soothe our furrowed brow.  Those of us living with pain and grief, or afflicted with hardship feel abandoned.  We feel rudderless on an open sea.  Huge waves threaten to engulf us at any given moment.  Our desires and debts stand at the apex and loom over us, like great avenging angels, and we search for comfort in addictions and self-destructive behaviour.

How do we step away from the precipice?  In Islam, the answer is remarkably simple.  We turn back to our Creator.  God knows what is best for His creation.  He has complete knowledge of the human psyche.  He knows of the pain, the despair, and the sadness.  God is whom we are reaching for in the darkness.  When we put God back on our agenda, the pain will subside.

“Verily, in the remembrance of God do hearts find rest.” (Quran 13:28)
