Demons and Breeders and Humans OH MY! Nora Ash has once again shown us how talented she is! This book is in a genre I have never read before, and I really fell in love with the world she has created. A world where women like Selma, a special kind with the ability to see behind the veil of a demon's human disguise for what they really are - Demons & Lords. Terrified all her life, moving from one psychiatric ward to the next, for the last 10 years, Selma has "not" had any of her "hallucinations" , as she believes them to be, until one fateful night when she makes a choice that will change her life - forever. Quite literally. Now in a mental hospital, she meets her new Doctor, who introduces himself as Dr. Hershey and claims that he can help her, make her "hallucinations" disappear, but all is not as it seems and Selma soon finds out that she is far more than human, she is a Breeder, a treasure, a soon to be bought mate for the Lords. This steamy introduction to this series is HOT, STEAMY and I could not put it down! It does end on a cliffhanger though! So be warned - BUT don't let that deter you from getting your hands on this treasure, because there is a book 2 AND a book 3! The author's world build up in this first book is really good, even if most of it is at the hospital - we still get a really good impression of how this world works. The language is easy flowing, it's HOT and steamy at times, our dear Doctor has a dirty mouth (yum) and Selma show's a strong character, by no means is she a meek miss willing to just lay down! Selma has seen monsters everywhere since she was a young girl – always worried that they were hiding under her bed, waiting to scare her. At 27, she knows better – she wasn’t hallucinating; they were real. When she’s offered a treatment to cure her condition, she reluctantly accepts knowing it’s unorthodox but desperate to try anything once. She should really listen to that tiny voice in her head and think twice before signing on the dotted line. I enjoyed this well written, entertaining, novella-length prequel. The characters are intriguing and well defined. There’s plenty of drama, some suspense and surprises along with several seriously steamy scenes courtesy of an overly possessive demon. I’m very much looking forward to the continuation of Selma’s story in the Demon’s Mark.

The book is fast-paced in the reading, taking you from Selma on the street as a witness to making her escape attempt. As a fan of books that give emotions that we can read clearly I love this in the book, I really do not want to give any spoilers in this review so I just need to say she feels pleasure, pain and horror but what do you expect when you have a demon around you. Totally need to read Demon's Mark to find out what develops if/when Selma escapes. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
