About this ebook

Norma Simon uses both the neighborhood and the international stage to celebrate children. Each carefully chosen example and comparison will help to forge a connection to friends and neighbors, other cultures, and faraway lands. As children enjoy this book, the world will grow a little smaller while understanding and acceptance will grow larger.

About the author

Norma Simon grew up in Brooklyn, the Bronx, and Manhattan. When she was a little girl, Norma liked roller skating and jumping rope, but reading and writing were her favorite activities. Pretending was fun, and in writing one could pretend all sorts of things. Her first published book appeared in 1954 and was followed by more than fifty others, often for young children, but including one semi-autobiographical story for girls. She lives in Massachusetts.
