Petow was a staff attorney in the Social Security Office of Hearings and Appeals.
After retiring from the government, Petow represented claimants at the agency level, at the Office of Hearings and Appeals, the Appeals Council, and in the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in history at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, a master’s in education at Suffolk University in Boston and her law degree at New England Law School, Boston.
