❤ Slam dunk? Not in their season of desire❤

Full-length novel prequel to THE SURPRISE PRINCESS

"Fast-paced and funny but soulful and deep.... Just right. That's what I thought of Hoops." -- 5-star review

The Coach and the Professor…

Carolyn Trent's logically mapped journey to becoming the perfect professor of English is hijacked the day she is appointed academic advisor to the Ashton University men's basketball team. Especially when she meets C.J. Draper, the team's infuriating, irreverent, and sexy new coach and discovers he’s the hijacker of her careful plans. She thoroughly disapproves of her beloved Ashton’s jump to big-time basketball, but how can she say no to safeguarding the academic progress of the players? As for saying no to the coach… surely she’ll get better with more practice.

C.J. has never lets adversity stop him -- if he had he'd never have gotten this far. He's not about to start by letting enticing Professor Trent derail him. He has goals. And Ashton is just one rung on his ladder up. If he chooses to rattle Carolyn’s ivory tower, it’s for the fun of seeing the fiery woman beneath the marble-cool exterior . . . isn't it?

When logic clashes with ambition in the game of love, will anyone win?

Brad Spencer plays on the college basketball team that has a role in C.J. and Carolyn’s romance in Hoops. But in the next book in USA Today bestselling author Patricia McLinn's The Wedding Series -- The Surprise Princess, Book 7 – Brad is grown up and finding his own romance. Now an assistant coach, he volunteers to be Katie's improbable knight. Despite what it will cost him. In The Surprise Princess, you’ll also celebrate the wedding of April and Hunter (The Christmas Princess).

“My favourite part was how he kept trying to define the colour of her hair. Actually, I'm lying. I also like that the woman was REAL. Not a size 2 model with the perfect body. But still beautiful.” - 5-star review

Reunion for murder in Haines Tavern

Sheila agrees to soothe Clara’s nervousness by accompanying her friend to the 20-year class reunion for North Bend County High. Nostalgia, good memories, old friendships – this should be fun, right?

Ah, but grudges, old rivalries, and long-buried secrets also show up. And before the festivities wrap up, there’s one old classmate dead, another being questioned, and enough suspicion to cover several more.

Sheila and Clara have their hands full making sure the wrong person isn’t accused and the right one doesn’t get away. Especially with Sheila also wondering about her relationship with ex-policeman Teague O'Donnell, her fledgling attempts to write fiction, and – of course – the well-being of the canine crew of Gracie, LuLu and Murphy.

This whodunit with humor is the sixth book in USA Today bestselling author Patricia McLinn’s cozy mystery series, Secret Sleuth, which begins with a murder on a transatlantic cruise in Death on the Diversion. In Death on Torrid Avenue and later books, accidental investigator Sheila Mackey returns to dry land in the Midwest, where mysteries abound in her new Kentucky home.
