About this ebook

After being hired as the temporary director of Marietta Medical ER, Dr. Lucy Davidson meticulously plots the course she wants the quickly growing facility to take. She’s laser-focused, determined to prove herself worthy to become the permanent director. No distraction will sway her…not even the brilliant and disturbingly handsome new Emergency Room physician, Thomas McAvoy.

Fulfilling a promise, Thomas has come to Marietta to help the woman who saved his life then leave as soon as possible. Still sustaining injuries from the near fatal attack, he realizes how much he appreciates the slower pace of his temporary assignment at a rural hospital. It's a soothing balm after years in an hectic urban ER.

The charm of Marietta and the friendliness of his colleagues lure Thomas into thinking he might like to make his temporary position permanent, especially since he and Lucy have become closer. As their relationship begins to heat up, Thomas realizes Lucy is everything he dreamed of in a life partner, but will old wounds derail their happily ever after?

An excellent start to a new series in my favorite fictional small town of Marietta. This is a bit of a departure from the cowboys we've come to love in the past. This series features doctors both at work at the hospital and outside of it. Patricia Fischer is a new author tome and I really enjoyed her style. Dr. Lucy Davidson is very focused. Not only with giving exceptional medical care but also growing the new facility she's a director for. Dr Thomas McAvoy is the new ER doc who has taken a temporary position. At first he thought he'd be out of there as soon as possible but he finds that not only does he find the slower pace of the ER calming but he's also enjoying his new relationship with Dr. Lucy and it's definitely worth pursuing. Things seem to be going really well until they find out they are competing for the same job. I recommend this one.

Seemed like FOREVER since I have visited Marietta and today was a good day to get lost in my favorite fictional hometown. What better place to start than by visiting the local ER. The first time I read this book (yes this is my second read), I was newly recovering from a nasty accident so I don't remember much. This time Doctors Thomas and Lucy stuck with me. I invite you to visit Marietta too. This book is the start of a new series. Dr Lucy has a strong will and it is needed as the director of the ER. Thomas is a doctor who travel around never landing in one hospital for long. He thinks he needs to be a protector. I love we get to meet new people and reconnect with some of our old friends . As most of you know i love Marietta, i love the people , their heart so much more. This book has heart.

steamy romance...Dr. Lucy wants to have a permanent position but initially finds it hard to fit in. New town, new climate, and scars to overcome. Dr. Thomas, playboy with no roots and a secretive past,he faces his own problems. They're attracted, and they fight the workplace romance despite the pull...until they can't. Problems in the ER, and Dr Lucy is trying to figure out the accounting errors. Dr. Thomas's protection of a friend/nurse threatens to undermine the relationship with Dr Lucy and the hospital. Can they find a way to open up about the past, find trust, and each secure a job without losing one another. A future could be in the cards, but they must open their hearts fully. Passionate read I recommend.
