🔥Complex plot: good, not great🌊🛥I started reading this series only a few novels ago with Deadman's Wake & I really like Mike Bowditch & his family factored in with investigations that involve both land & water in the sparsely populated woods & coasts of Maine. This novel did, though, have an awful lot of geographic detail that went way past me &, for me, detracted from the drama & suspense. If I had ever lived or visited in the area I suppose my reaction would have been quite different.

Could not enjoy this book. It kept stalling out and I found myself leaving it for days before picking it back up. I expected to love this, but found myself losing patience with Mike and just plain ill with him when Stacy needed him. Disappointed is the key word here. I am giving this 5 stars, as others will love the story, where I just tolerated it.
