I started this book today and glued until finished. This book gives you a perfect example of how today we are living without feeling the creation ie this world. How love is being misunderstood. How fear is hindrancing our progress path. The metaphorical style is just awesome. The simplest things have been presented in a lucid way.

The Alchemist is a mesmerizing story about a young shepherd named Santiago and his heroes journey to find his long waited treasure. Santiago keeps on having a recurring dream about a hidden treasure somewhere in Egypt, as a result he decides to travel there in hopes of finding this treasure. Santiago travels great distances and encounters many conflicts on his journey to find the hidden treasure, however this doesn't stop him from continuing. Santiago is curious to find this treasure which keeps him striving forward and is willing to do whatever it takes to reach it. Little does he know that the ultimate treasure is actually right besides him and he doesn't even realize it. This book can be worthwhile for high school students to read given that Santiago had to make many decision while on his journey that would impact his future. High school student are constantly making decisions whether it's selecting their group of friends to deciding to give up on work. This book provides a better insight on how important it is for a person to make a decision that not only will help themselves, but can help others. A person should tale risks that will lead to a bigger outcome, life is about adventuring and making life for yourself better. The only way you will enlighten your life is by doing what you want to do, and making choices that will help you out and not let "faith" take over your life.

This book was very exciting to read and I never got bored of it. I enjoyed how a boy sets off to find treasure that appears in his dream and throughout that time, he gains riches trying to find his treasure. He then meets with the wise people throughout his hero's journey and those characters helped him develop. The book makes the reader think about making tough decisions between love or treasure. It gives a understanding to how the character changes within the book. This book can be meaningful to high school students since high school students are usually in the range of making tough decisions like picking the right college to attend. Moreover, the decision those students make will determine their outcome in the future. This gives students an idea to try and achieve their "Personal Legend" and make the right choices that can benefit them. Would highly recommend students reading this book so they could get lost in the book from how similar it could be to a student's life.
