Peter Rowe is an Author with a difference and a story to share. Born with Down syndrome and other conditions that limits his ability to speak, it wasn’t until Peter was nearly 30 that he was introduced to Facilitated Communication (FC) – a system that finally gave him a way to communicate and share his view of his world and experiences, the good and the bad, and to finally allow the wondrous colourful stories previously trapped in his imagination to explode onto the pages of his amazing “Josh The Robot” children’s book series. Peter has self-published and illustrated eight children’s books, and is also an exhibiting Artist and Presenter. Josh the Robot was created by Peter to share how it feels to be treated differently and educate children and adults about the importance embracing each other’s unique gifts and that it is ok to be different, actually it’s fabulous. At first glance it may appear that Peter’s books are aimed only towards children. However, upon reading these delightful stories and understanding Peter’s amazing journey, you soon realise they have something to share for all ages. Within the animated, colourful pages are messages that are universal in relation to showing compassion, empathy, inclusion and respect for each other’s differences.
