***NOW A USA TODAY BESTSELLER***

Imagine lying in a hospital bed and the doctor who pulls the curtain back to treat you is the one who got away. Even if you never really had her in the first place. She’s not only your high school crush, she’s the ex-girlfriend of your ex-best friend. The one girl you’ve always wanted.

Here’s a step-by-step list to finally win her over…

Key to win #1: Try not to take offense that she snuck back into town without telling you—six months ago.

Key to win #2: Rekindle the friendship to ease the awkwardness. But… DO NOT enter the friend zone.

Key to win #3: Ignore the fact that she went speed dating the night before. Take it as good a sign—maybe she’s looking for a relationship.

Key to win #4: Attempt to keep the two of you out of the town gossip blog and away from your large family.

Make sure you don’t let this last one throw you off your mission.

Key to win #5: Don’t get deterred when you find out the past is about to repeat itself. Because the man she met at the speed dating night is your best buddy from work.

Just remember, you sat back and let her slip away once, you won’t do it a second time. Failure is not an option.

4 STARS Winning My Best Friend’s Girl is Book #8 in Piper Rayne’s Bailey Series. Stella and Kingston’s story is one I have been anticipating from the start of the series. In previous books very few details about Kingston are revealed so I was eager to start this and learn all about him. Kingston is a firefighter, smoke jumper, and is always looking for his next adrenaline fix. He has been deemed as the town playboy (nicknamed Romeo) but has only ever loved one woman. Stella Harrison. She was forbidden in their teen years because she was dating Kingston’s best friend Owen. Stella and Kingston became the best of friends when they were young. They shared an emotional connection right from the beginning but when things got messy in their teens Stella left town. Now that she is back Kingston is determined to win over her heart this time. After 8 years apart Stella and Kingston finally have a chance to be together or so we think and then Piper Rayne throws a wrench at us and almost makes history repeat itself. I appreciate a book with tension, drama and angst but this one was a lot and it took away from the overall love story between Kingston and Stella at times. There is a lot of heart and emotion within this story. More than I expected. The lost love of Stella and Kingston broke my heart more than once and I was eagerly flipping the pages until the end to see how everything would turn out. As usual Piper Rayne did not disappoint and this is one beautifully written second chance story that you will adore if you have been following the series thus far. As always the Bailey crew makes their appearances in this book and as always they show up when they need to and offer their unwavering support and unconditional love. I can hardly believe that there is only one book remaining in the Bailey Series. I don’t want this series to end! This family and the town of Lake Starlight have been imbedded deep in my heart from the beginning of the series and I am excited and sad all at once to get to Sedona’s story next. *ARC received in exchange of an honest review.

To say I'm very attached to the Bailey family is an understatement. Piper Rayne has made me care about each and every one of the Bailey children and now all of their significant others and children too! I've been intrigued by Kingston mostly because we don't know that much about him. Well, know I know all I need to know about him and he's wonderful! Kingston is both a firefighter and a smoke jumper. He loves adrenaline rushes and he's earned the name Romeo along the way. The woman he's loved since high school ended up as the girlfriend of his best friend, Owen, and he never fought for her. He just let her go. He's been heartbroken since she left, but when he runs into her by accident, will he let her go again or will he fight for her? Stella left Lake Starlight eight years ago to head to New York to go to school and she has become a doctor in that time as well. Part of the reason she went to New York was to leave behind the mess that had been created between the two best friends, Kingston and Owen, when she decided to date Owen. It tore apart the friendship between the guys and while they have patched things up, it isn't the way it was before and never will be. Now that she's back, is she open to what could happen with King? Stella and King have always shared a powerful connection, but like King, she has lost people in her life and having that happen again scares her. King loves the rush of danger and she's not sure she could handle anything happening to him should they take a chance on being together. Is taking a chance on love worth it? This second-chance romance is full of emotion, heat, taking risks and learning to trust. I was sucked into this book immediately and getting appearances from our other favorite Bailey's is always welcome. All I can say is I'm ready for Sedona's book NOW! Another fantastic addition to this already compelling series!

Gahhhhh!! Another stellar story from the minds of Piper and Rayne! I absolutely love the world they have created with Lake Starlight and the Bailey family! Kingston and Stella! Their story has intrigued me since Piper Rayne started dropping hints about them in the previous books in the series. The roadblocks that both Kingston and Stella had in front of them and how they were able to break down the barriers between them were spectacular. The history between King and Stella was rich and moving. It made my heart melt and swoon. Reading about them seeing each other again was so inspiring and I couldn't put this book down till the very end! I admired the fact that King and Stella were an interracial couple. Love knows no color or creed, the heart wants what it wants and two souls shouldn't be separated because of it! This story is doesn't focus on race, it focuses on love and being with your soul mate. As always, there are surprises aplenty and I was gasping when I read them! I am hoping with Sedona's story next, we will find out who is behind the Buzzwheel!!
