Such a powerfull and beautiful story about Shane and Ilya, while making them both understand and process their own feelings as the time passes and that then eventually miss esch other so much. They have such chemistry between them that many people would love to read about it even more than it's written. Hope that Rachel Reid will understand how great the story about them is and maybe we will get even a next book with them after the Long Game to read again about their story. 100% recommed reading this book.

So bad. The main characters have no style, no friends, no hobbies, or no sense of personality outside being obsessed with one another. I don't think we even got any real hockey scenes? It's written by a woman, so the things they find desirable about one another aren't at all accurate to what gay men actually care about, but obviously gay men aren't the target audience here, and so this complaint doesn't matter. What you should care about though is that these boys are obsessed with the concept of their slit, and whoever told the author that was a thing that was pleasurable or desirable at all needs to speak to an actual human male. Also oh God, don't give your lead character a ponytail.

I couldn't wait to dive into Ilya and Shane's story. The narrator for this one did a good job. I loved the way he changed his voice for each character. Now I did watch the show before reading this so I already have what the characters look like in my head. When scenes played out I could fully see them. It blew my mind how on point the dialogue is. I appreciate more of the story I get from reading the book and the differences. Nothing compares to all the little details we get in the book.
