About this ebook

How do you punish an immortal? By making him human. After angering his father Zeus, the god Apollo is cast down from Olympus. Weak and disoriented, he lands in New York City as a regular teenage boy. Now, without his godly powers, the four-thousand-year-old deity must learn to survive in the modern world until he can somehow find a way to regain Zeus's favor. But Apollo has many enemies—gods, monsters, and mortals who would love to see the former Olympian permanently destroyed. Apollo needs help, and he can think of only one place to go . . . an enclave of modern demigods known as Camp Half-Blood.

This was a great start to what's looking to be a great series. Character development was great, it was full of twists and turns, and only a few things were predictable. I've been a fan of Rick since around 3rd grade, and even now as a teenager, he does not disappoint. The action in this story was very different from other books because they actually have trouble. the story is very satisfying and was brought to my attention by following the climax perfectly ending the resolution.

It was a fine book, but not as good as some of his other material. The story is fun, and fast paced. Percy Jackson and Jason Grace, and the rest of the Camp Half-Blood and Camp Jupiter were so well written and enjoyable I think it would be difficult to jump into any story set in the same world and have it live up to the hype. This book tries, and does a fair job.

This book relies heavily on the god Apollo being mortal. The typical shock and stupidity even though he has been put through this punishment in the past a few times. This time however he is just a bit more mortal than usual. The book also relies heavily on the authors past books as Easter eggs like the Percy Jackson books, if you have never read any of the other books from the author than all these Easter eggs fall flat as they go on and on about these characters and adventures that you know nothing about.
