This book is a complete reprint of the 1922 Sears, Roebuck and Co. catalog of radio apparatus and electrical goods. Each page of an original printed catalog has been scanned and reproduced as a page image. Each image has been carefully cleaned and restored by hand and computer; we have removed ink bleed-through, showthrough from printing on the opposite sides, and dirt and spots from the printing process. The resulting images have a huge amount of fine detail, and will look best on reading devices which can show large images well.
In addition to images of all of the original content pages, we have included a short introduction to Sears, Roebuck and Co. as a supplier of goods and an engine of transformation of the American economy.
By 1922, electrical goods and appliances were in millions of homes in America, but radio was just beginning to change from a technical enterprise for experimenters to an entertainment and communication medium for the masses. This is what the radio enthusiasts saw when they got their new Sears catalogs.
