Pop icon Ronnie Spector reveals the story of her dreamlike rise from the streets of Harlem to the pinnacle of rock stardom as lead singer of the Ronettes, and her nightmare descent into madness as the wife of Phil Spector, the pop hitmaker who kept her a virtual prisoner behind the locked doors of his darkened Beverly Hills mansion. Ronnie’s escape from that ordeal, and her subsequent struggle to reclaim her voice, her career, and her sanity, provide an emotion-packed climax to this smart, funny, and inspiring autobiography, named by one of “The Top 25 Rock Memoirs of All Time” by Rolling Stone.

Now available for the first time as an eBook, this new digital edition of Be My Baby is a fan’s dream come true. Featuring 75 stunning color and black and white photographs from Ronnie’s personal collection—many appearing in print for the first time—this link-indexed eBook also includes an updated discography that provides the most complete survey of Ronnie’s recording career ever published.

—Jon Wilde, Blitz (London)

“What an unexpected pleasure to read a book on a subject about which I thought I knew everything, only to find out that I didn’t. A very serious contribution to understanding what really were the best years of my theatrical life. I’d say it was a wonderfully scholarly work--but I won’t, because I don’t want to scare people away from a book that’s as much fun to read as this is.”—Carl Reiner, Producer and creator of The Dick Van Dyke Show

"Wonderful. You got all the facts down in the right order.  No embellishments.  All the truth.  Somebody finally got the whole story right.”—Rose Marie

“The Official Dick Van Dyke Show Book is the best reference book on my shelf.  It makes it even more fun to watch the show, if that's possible.”—Morey Amsterdam

“Vince's tribute to our show offers as accurate a snapshot of the series—and the era that begat it—as any I've seen.”—Sheldon Leonard, Executive Producer of The Dick Van Dyke Show

Pamela Des Barres
This intimate account of 24 legendary groupies reveals what went on behind the closed doors of rock stars from Elvis to Marilyn Manson. Consisting of Pamela Des Barres's revealing interviews with and profiles of other supergroupies, this book offers firsthand glimpses into the backstage world of rock stars and the women who loved them. The groupies--such as Tura Satana, Miss Japan Beautiful, who taught Elvis how to dance; Cassandra Peterson (Mistress of the Dark), who tangled with Tom Jones in Sin City; Cynthia Plaster Caster, who redefined the art of Jimi Hendrix; and Miss B., who revealed Kurt Cobain's penchant for lip gloss and panty hose--tell tales that go well beyond an account of a one-night stand to become a part of music history. Since rock's beginnings, there have been groupies. These chosen few women who bed, but not often wed, the musicians of their dreams are almost as much a part of music history as the musicians themselves. Pamela Des Barres, the world's foremost supergroupie, here offers an all-access backstage pass to the world of rock stars and the women who love them.Having had her own affairs with legends such as Keith Moon and Jimmy Page--as documented in her bestselling memoir I'm with the Band --Pamela now turns the spotlight onto other women who have found their way into the hearts and bedrooms of some of the world's greatest musicians. In Let's Spend the Night Together, she tells, in their own words, the stories of these amazing women who went way beyond the one-night stand. Here you'll get to know 24 outrageous groupies, including * Tura Satana, Miss Japan Beautiful, who taught Elvis how to dance and gave him lessons in lovemaking * Cassandra Peterson, aka Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, who tangled with Tom Jones in Sin City * Soulful Miss Mercy, who discovered that not only does the rest of the world listen to Al Green while making love--so does Al Green * Cynthia Plaster Caster, who redefined art and made history when Jimi Hendrix plunged his member into her plaster mold * The mysterious Miss B, who reveals Kurt Cobain's penchant for lip gloss and pantyhose * and over a dozen more
Maurice White
Foreword by Steve Harvey and afterword by David Foster

The Grammy-winning founder of the legendary pop/R&B/soul/funk/disco group tells his story and charts the rise of his legendary band in this sincere memoir that captures the heart and soul of an artist whose groundbreaking sound continues to influence music today.

With its dynamic horns, contrasting vocals, and vivid stage shows, Earth, Wind & Fire was one of the most popular acts of the late twentieth century—the band “that changed the sound of black pop” (Rolling Stone)—and its music continues to inspire modern artists including Usher, Jay-Z, Cee-Lo Green, and Outkast. At last, the band’s founder, Maurice White, shares the story of his success.

Now in his seventies, White reflects on the great blessings music has brought to his life and the struggles he’s endured: his mother leaving him behind in Memphis when he was four; learning to play the drums with Booker T. Jones; moving to Chicago at eighteen and later Los Angeles after leaving the Ramsey Lewis Trio; forming EWF, only to have the original group fall apart; working with Barbra Streisand and Neil Diamond; his diagnosis of Parkinson’s; and his final public performance with the group at the 2006 Grammy Awards. Through it all, White credits his faith for his amazing success and guidance in overcoming his many challenges.

Keep Your Head to the Sky is an intimate, moving, and beautiful memoir from a man whose creativity and determination carried him to great success, and whose faith enabled him to savor every moment.
