Parashari Jaimini and Tajik are the three most popular systems of Vedic Astrology. Parashar gives more importance to the planets while Jaimini considers the rashis to be more important. Tajik is mainly used in Prashna Shastra and in Varshaphal. Tajik diverts slightly always from the main stream of the traditional methods and employs newer techniques of Astrology. 'Tajik Neelakanthi', of Acharya Neelakantha, which was composed in the 16th century AD, is the base of Taik Jyotish. This does not mean that Varshaphal and Prashna techniques were not practised in vedic Astrology before this. 'Uttar Kalamrit' of Kalidas mentions and describes the computation of Varshaphal dasha which is different from the 'Mudda dasha' of Varshaphal. Apart from this, 'Shat Panchashikha' of Prithyushyas is the established classic of Prashna Shastra, which was composed centuries before 'Tajik Neelakanthi'. Ancient Kairaleeya Jyotish is also well known for considering Prashna to be their main technique. The influence of Greek and Arab culture is clearly seen on the word 'Tajik'. Arrival of the invaders from Western Asia initiated the exchange of culture between India and West Asia. This exchange introduced some newer techniques to our Vedic Astrology. One of these techniques was Tajik. This has been marked as the beginning of Tajik jyotish. Tajik word does not belong to Sanskrit. There are different opinions regarding this issue. Some scholars consider it to be a distorted from of the word 'Jatak'. Another view is that meaning of Tajik is a horse in Turkish and Persian language. The speed of this technique has been compared to that of a horse and for this reason it has been named Tajik. In any case the influence of Mohammedans on this knowledge is very clear. This is also confirmed by the other words of Tajik, namely mudda, muntha, sahams and the names of the Tajik yogas like Ithasal, Ikkabal, Ishraf, nakta, radda and khallasar etc. Moving at the average speed of 1° per day, Sun completes one round of the Zodiac in one year. For casting the annual horoscope we select the time when Sun reaches the longitude of the natal Sun. The horoscope cast for that date and time becomes the annual horoscope and the Varshaphal is decided on the basis of this horoscope. In a similar manner prediction for any year of the person's life can be given on the basis of the annual horoscope. In other words the annual horoscope is based on the longitude of the natal Sun and not on the date and time of birth. This also means that the date, day and time of the annual horoscope is generally different from that of the birth horoscope.

This book talks about the fundamentals of domestic vastu. The word Vastu originated from the Sanskrit word “Vas” and the meaning of this word is to live life or to reside. The word “Vasu” originated from “Vas” and finally this word “Vastu” originated from “Vasu”. Meaning of the word Vastu is a place where a person resides. The meaning of Shastra is a book which deals with the mysterious and systematic explanation of a subject, therefore the meaning of Vastushastra is a book related to the residence. The origin and anatomy of Vastushastra is based on the principle of the five elements of creation. As our body is also made up of these five elements, if enough attention is paid to the incorporation of these five elements in the construction of a house then the people residing in the building shall reside happily. These five elements are- Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Space. Our universe also is made up of these five elements only. Therefore the saying goes – (Yatpindetatbramhande). God ( bhagwan) has given these five gifts to us– from (bha) bhumi (land), from (ga) gagan (sky, ether), from (va) vayuq (air), from (na) neer (water). God is represented by the symbol (Om). These five elements are present in this Om also. “Aa” is Agni (fire), “Au” is Jal (water), “Ma” is Vayu (air), “ W ” (ardhachandra) is Bhoomi (land) and “0” is Akash (ether, sky). Similarly the word Vastu also denotes these five elements. From “Va” Vayu (air), from “Aa” Agni (fire), from “Sa” “Srishti” Bhoomi (land), from “Ta” Tat means Akash (ether/ sky) and from “Au” Jal (water). These five elements also are represented by the five planets. 1. Earth is represented by Mars 2. Water is represented by Venus 3. Fire is represented by Sun 4. Air is represented by Saturn 5. Ether is represented by Jupiter. Similarly mind is controlled by Moon. Intelligence is controlled by Mercury. Ego and arrogance is controlled by Rahu and moksha or spirituality by Ketu. Disbalance of these elements in the body produces ill health and disease. In a similar manner the disbalance of these elements in a house creates varied kind of troubles for the persons living in it. There are unlimited forces present in nature. Some of these forces influence us, for example the gravitational force of earth, the magnetic and electrical energy of the universe and the electromagnetic force present everywhere. These energies also exist in the constructed house and they continue influencing the electromagnetic force present in the human body. This produces the auspicious or inauspicious results. These results vary from place to place depending on the geographical location. For these reasons the results of vastu principles are not the same all over the world. They differ according to the longitude and latitude of the place. They also differ according to the horoscope of the person concerned. If man goes along with the flow of nature's energies, it produces good health, progress and prosperity. If he goes against the flow of nature, he faces hurdles and obstructions everywhere. Hence it is utmost important and necessary for us to organize our lives according to nature, only then we can live happily. Halayudha kosha says that, Vastu is that art of house construction, which starts from Ishan kona etc and which protects the residents of the house from natural calamities and obstructions.

As the duration of the zone 13°20’ for each Nakshatra is a broad zone, they are further classed into nine parts in proportion to their duration as per their Vimshotri Dasa. This is termed as the sub-lord. Normally, Jupiter, Venus, affiliated Mercury and waxing Moon are termed as natural benefics while Sun, Mars, Saturn, Rahu & Ketu as malefics. But in KP it is determined by sub lord planet is posited in. 1. The planet in a constellation will offer the result of Bhava house occupied by the lord of the constellation. 2. The planet which is situated in a constellation is the strongest to offer the results of the house occupied by the lord of the constellation.. 3. The occupants of a house is strong to give the results of the house occupied by it. Planets in the constellation of the occupants of a Bhava will indicate the fruits of the Bhava. 4.Planet deposited in the constellation of the lord of the sign where the cusp of a house falls. 5. Then only the lord of the sign where the cusp of a house falls. The above form the various significators for the determination of a particular event. Only the conjoined planets of the above should be utilised for determining the end result. Hence it may be concluded that the planet is the resource, constellation indicates nature of the result and the sub is a deciding factor whether the matter is favourable or not. Unless the last is favourable we do not call it a benefic. Note:- Rahu & Kethu are Nodes. A node signifies firstly the results of the planet or planets with which It Is conjoined, then the results of lord of the constellation in which It is deposited, then the planet or planets aspecting it and lastly of the owner of the sign in which it is deposited.
