A fierce, protective rancher.

A woman on the run from her father’s shadowy past.

Cam’s Hope, Book Ten, MacLarens of Boundary Mountain Historical Western Romance Series

Camden MacLaren is a rancher to his core, working long hours to continue the success of the family’s ranch, Circle M. Although a cattleman, his expertise is in training horses, breeding and preparing them to fulfill Army contracts. Yet, he yearned for something more—the love of a woman strong enough for the hard life as a rancher’s wife.

Evangeline Rousseau made one adventurous decision in her life. After her parents’ deaths, she’d packed her belongings and moved across country to settle in the frontier town where her best friend lived. Buying her own house and settling in, she found herself wondering how a city girl such as herself could find a future in a town of ranchers, men who made a living with their hands.

The attraction between them was immediate, yet Cam hesitated to express his increasing desire for a woman with no knowledge of cattle, horses, or making a living from the land. No matter the intense pull between them, a beautiful, sheltered woman such as Vangie would find little happiness away from the advantages of a town.

Cam’s reasons to keep his distance fall away when threats are directed at Vangie. Men from her father’s past are hunting her down, following a trail from Grand Rapids to Conviction. The reason for their search is simple. Collect money Vangie’s father allegedly owed them, and they’ll use any means necessary to get it.

Cam’s Hope, book ten in the MacLarens of Boundary Mountain Historical Western Romance Series, is a stand-alone, full-length novel with an HEA and no cliffhanger.

Quinn’s Honor, Book Three, MacLarens of Boundary Mountain Historical Western Romance Series

“Every book of Shirleen's never fails to draw me in and make it impossible to put down until I devour it!”

Quinn MacLaren has one true love…Circle M, the family ranch. He makes it a habit of working hard and playing harder, spending time with experienced women who know he wants nothing more than their company. He buries the love he feels for one woman deep inside, knowing he’ll never be the man she needs.

Emma Pearce is a true ranch woman, working long hours to help keep the family ranch thriving. Feisty, funny, and reliable, she’s the girl all the single young men want—after they’ve sown their wild oats. Few know Emma has her heart set on one man. A man who may never grow up enough to walk away from his wild ways and settle down.

When tragedy strikes, Quinn’s right where he doesn’t want to be—as temporary foreman of the Pearce ranch. Stepping in to fill Big Jim Pearce’s shoes isn’t easy. Neither is keeping his feelings for Emma hidden and his hands to himself. Honor-bound to do what is right, Quinn meets the challenge, losing Emma’s friendship in the process.

Adding to Quinn’s worries, something sinister is working its way through the thriving town of Conviction. Unforeseen forces are at work. Debt builds, families lose their ranches, and newcomers threaten to divide not only the land, but the people—including the Pearce family.

As events unfold, Quinn faces the difficult challenge of keeping his feelings for Emma hidden and his honor intact. Doing what he believes is right couldn’t feel more wrong.

After all, what’s a man without honor?

Heather’s Choice, Book Five, MacLarens of Boundary Mountain Historical Western Romance Series

What is a man to do when the woman he loves refuses to acknowledge his existence?

Caleb Stewart never forgot the girl he met on the wagon train west. When his family continued to Oregon, hers to California, he never expected to see her again. Years later, an unexpected invitation takes him south, to the Circle M ranch and right into the path of the girl he’d watched ride off in the back of a wagon years before.

Heather MacLaren loves nothing more than working on the family ranch. Men, emotions, and relationships hold little appeal, even when a young man from her past drifts back into her life, messing up her ordered existence and causing Heather to doubt everything she believes.

Caleb’s work on the Circle M ranch is better than he’d ever allowed himself to dream. As a valued ranch hand, he’s become the rare outsider the MacLarens have claimed as their own. His only disappointment is the young woman who’s made it clear she’ll never drop her defenses enough to share his feelings.

Facing a hard truth, Caleb is forced to make a tough decision.

First, he must help his adopted family eliminate a danger threatening to destroy not only Circle M but the entire MacLaren clan.

Heather has faced many challenges as the oldest female MacLaren cousin. But nothing prepares her for the savagery of the attacks against her family. Although they all stand together, there’s one person she knows will always remain by her side. He’s also the one man who has the ability to crush her spirit…and her heart.

Will fighting side-by-side to save the Circle M strengthen their bond? Or will it tear their tenuous relationship apart?

Heather’s Choice, book five in the MacLarens of Boundary Mountain Historical Western Romance Series, is a stand-alone, full-length novel with an HEA and no cliffhanger.

Blaine’s Wager, Book Seven, MacLarens of Boundary Mountain Historical Western Romance Series

Blaine MacLaren yearns to be a man his family considers a strong leader. After a lifetime living in his older brother’s shadow, his uncles finally give him the chance he craves—running their new properties near Settlers Valley. Embracing the challenge, he rides away from Circle M with only one regret—leaving the woman he desires more than he cares to admit.

Lia Jacobs has been running for four years, staying a few towns ahead of the family who plans to drag her home. Landing in Conviction, she believes herself safe, until a wildly handsome man turns her dreams upside down.

Beginning to trust him and forging a friendship, she starts to think a future, maybe even love, is possible. Then he rides away, leaving her alone with shattered dreams and a bruised heart.

The days are long, the nights longer as Blaine works to keep the woman he’d left behind from his thoughts. Nothing helps, until a series of threatening events forces him to focus on the ranch and not the throbbing pain in his chest.

Lia buries herself in her work, forgetting the danger of staying in one place too long. The arrival of those who search for her forces Lia to make a tough decision—one taking her away from a known danger and into the path of another.

She may have outsmarted those who chase her. But is exchanging one type of threat for another, one endangering her heart, any better?

Frank Boyd found the hazy but bright Atlantic morning most invigorating as he stepped upon the deck. Unbeknownst to him, not far away on this same immigrant ship travelled his future English bride. Frank and Estelle Tompkins decided to marry and undertake this new challenge of life in America together. They travelled the expanse of a great new land, taking their first-born with them.

Their new perspective could not have been better, nor more promising, in sunny California. With the arrival of their angelic and blue-eyed, golden-haired Mary, it seemed that life was nearly at optimum for the Boyds - but then the crash of '29 altered their lives forever. It was onward to Oregon where an unkindly fate awaited the young Scotsman.

Devastated and shattered, Estelle and her children came to know and love the mysterious Sam Jennings and his Indian friends, as well as the young cowboy Bob Clemm. In addition, an all-new arena opened to Mary Boyd when Demon entered her world and she became a renowned rodeo trick rider with no peers.

"Well, you chose to be a rodeo star," Bob uttered as she rose to disengage him. And so Mary risked losing her first love to cousin Jennifer Tompkins. However, the war came and changed many lives: Cowboy Clemm, now turned marine, had to depart from those women he loved so well; and Mary's new course with the rodeo circuit had its own betrayal and pitfalls. The road back to Oregon was tiring and chancy for Mary who must now rid herself of the effects of forced passion, an unwanted child, even at the risk of her own life. In the heart and warm eyes of Jim Warren, Mary found the refuge that she so sorely needed at the nadir of her life. But her respite would be all too brief as the cold Nebraska winter spent its course.

Mary, to her sorrow, learned of her brother's grim sacrifice, but now with her and Bob's love rekindled Mary must keep the faith as she reassembled her life once again in Oregon. With her brother torn from her life, a new miracle arrived in the form of Billy's unmarried Filipino "wife". Along with the beautiful Rosa Santos came Billy's son, and another obligation that only Mary's husband, Bob Clemm, could fulfill.

As Mary basked in the warmth of her adventurous memories, she awaited the arrival of her first son, knowing that she had been to the greatest heights and the darkest depths, and yet emerged a star and a winner in so many ways.
A past he’d give anything to forget. A haunting guilt he can never make right.

The one woman who held the power to heal his injured soul.
