Every time I start a second chance romance, I’m hesitant. I often get book rage if the reason they split, and the time they spend apart, was for not good reasons. Asher and Remy didn’t give me book rage, they gave me anxiety, because I so needed them to work this out and get back together! Very young when they got together, unable to handle the stress of their break-up, they both got hurt, badly, when they split. It takes a good part of the book for it come up with the why’s and how’s, and the acceptance of the situation. But the focus isn’t on the people they were then, that is part of their history. They work on who they are now, and the awareness and electricity they still have. The feelings are harder for them, the hurt that needs to heal, even all these years later. Bit by bit, a little at a time, Remy heals and understands. Asher sees things differently, and not through lenses of pain and confusion. They embrace what has always been there, never went away, between them, and grab their future to make it their own Plus, there is a mystery to solve, and bad guys to put down. And we are left with an unknown factor, that I hope my gut feeling is right about. Of course, we get a sneak momentary preview of our sassy heroine’s circumstances for the next book in the series as well!

Truly fell for Asher and Remy. I knew there was history there but wow, my poor heart. But their kind of love friends or more is worth it and hopefully they'll see it before it's too late.. again.

Asher Sullivan was once Remy Brennan’s entire world, then he broke her heart into a million pieces. Detective Asher Sullivan has always protected Remy. Now he’s crashing her wedding, dangerous criminals are threatening her and all Remy has left is an empty bank account, a serious case of lust for her gorgeous ex…and a duffel bag of cold, hard cash that might just fix all her problems. Asher’s protective instincts have kicked in and just as he gets his second chance, a secret that Remy is keeping could rip her away from him…forever. This ‘Dangerous Love’ story is one suspenseful read that gets readers motors running and their hearts pounding. Remy and Asher are strong, engaging characters that easily pull readers into their story and the chemistry between them leaves scorch marks in its wake. But this relationship has history that caused some heart break so there is also some very turbulent emotions involved as well. This engaging and emotionally gripping read has a fast pace and is full of suspense that keeps readers locked on tight while Remy and Asher tiptoe around just how much they want each other. With some twists and turns, the bad guys ensure that the characters nor the readers are sure just what’s going to happen and why as the danger to Remy escalates. This story also has a different and surprising ending that takes the cake and makes this story a very entertaining read.
