“An engrossing journalistic thriller.”—Kirkus Reviews (starred review)

“Thought-provoking thriller...Loaded with tension and full of unexpected twists and turns.”—Jan Burke, bestselling author and Edgar Award winner for Bones

“Extremely well-written tale of good vs. evil.”—Huffington Post

Half a century after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, someone is killing people on the streets of New York City and leaving behind a bizarre calling card of that tragic day in Dallas.

In this bold and entertaining thriller from a true media insider, discredited newspaper reporter Gil Malloy breaks the story of the link between seemingly unconnected murders—a Kennedy half dollar coin found at each of the crime scenes. At the same time, a man emerges who claims to be the secret son of Lee Harvey Oswald and says he has new evidence that Oswald was innocent of the JFK killing.

Malloy, who has fallen from grace at the New York Daily News and sees this as an opportunity to redeem himself as an ace reporter, is certain there is a connection between the Oswald revelations and the NYC murders, but first he has to get someone to believe him. Convinced that the answers go all the way back to the JFK assassination more than fifty years ago, Malloy soon uncovers long-buried secrets that put his own life in danger from powerful forces who fear he’s getting too close to the truth.

Two tales of suspense fuse into an edge-of-your-seat thriller as Malloy races to stop the killer—before it’s too late.
Pivotal Analysis
On the 2nd of April, 1849, the English King Michael II died in a riding accident two weeks after his marriage to Sarah Wilkinson-Jones. Their son, Philipp III, ascended the throne on the 20th April 1870. The coronation was held in Midchester Cathedral in the twin cities of London-Bradfield.
Civil war is still raging across the Atlantic in the New Territories between the Northern and Southern States. Both States have severed contact with the English Government over the lack of material support in the world-wide energy crisis.
Hugo Brent, criminologist, and his assistant and lover, scientist Kathleen Higgs-Taylor, are requested to assist Inspector Lastrange of the London-Bradfield Constabulary concerning an investigation into a rich woman’s suicide. Later, they are called to a second death, a murdered female playwright; only to find that the major suspect, a theatre producer, is the husband of the first murder victim.
With the latest case solved it was not long before Kate and Hugo’s assistance is required once again. They are required to investigate a murder in which a woman admits to being the sole user of the murder weapon, after which, they are faced with another death and then another and have no choice but to seek clues in another direction.
Six weeks later and Lastrange is faced with another problem, he is convinced that there is a serial killer in the city who preys on prostitutes, leaving them with a diamond ring as compensation. He asks Kate and Hugo for help with the enquiries; meanwhile a minor suspect talks with a newspaper reporter hinting at his guilt, but Kate and Hugo have another suspect in view, not only that, Inspector Lastrange has arrested a robot and Hugo and Kate have to point out the error of his ways. Unexpectedly they are called to the Cauldar laboratory, where Bella and Amy thank them for their help. Kate becomes suspicious about Bella’s condition and Amy is forced to take them on a strange journey, something that changes their lives.
 A frothy, funny page-turner!

When Belinda Hennessey moves to Atlanta after a humiliating personal setback, she’s eager to start over: new surroundings, new job, new friends. To help adjust to the big city traffic, she joins a carpool with three other women in her office, who give her a crash course on maneuvering the maze of roads named “Peachtree” and tips on navigating office politics, which includes tiptoeing around their tyrannical boss.

Belinda tries desperately to fit in, and even manages to meet a couple of eligible men. Yet fate keeps conspiring against her. Her relationships become more problematic, and when bizarre accidents begin to occur, she starts to think she might be cursed. But when Belinda learns the woman she replaced in the carpool died under mysterious circumstances, she begins to think she’s being targeted—and not for Employee of the Year.

“Stephanie Bond is in her usual rare form, and that form is utterly delightful.  KILL THE COMPETITION is an excellent, fast-paced, sexy story.  —AOL Romance Fiction Forum

“With a fast pace that moves the story along and smart snappy dialog between the characters, Ms Bond has penned another fascinating read that will leave her readers wanting more from this talented and imaginative author.”  —A Romance Review

“Whatever book you want, you will probably find it in KILL THE COMPETITION. Laughter, suspense, passion, and female bonding all combine in this realistically complex and sometimes whacky book. Ms. Bond has created magic, and she pulls more than one rabbit out of the hat to surprise her readers.”  —Academic Planet

Starred review! “DO read this novel.” —Publishers Weekly
