So now I’m stranded here—trying to make a living by solving murders the old fashioned way — without help from DNA, databases, CSI crime labs or the police.

Crime and Croissants is focused around a terrifying possiblity that a nuclear bomb set off in midair might start a new apocolypse of sorts. All electronic devices are fried, even newer cars are inoperable. Except that in France, croissants, coffee and cheese will always be available. Even if people have to ride a horse everywhere. I love the intelligent way this series is written, with a reporter as the heroine. She loves her designer clothes and her French pastries even through the disaster.

Stylish woman travels to Europe and gets stranded and becomes a detective an interesting story. Her stylish clothes sound nice but kind of not practical but throws in some interest. Charming setting and also characters make for a delightful story.

I loved the whole premis of her being trapped in France. I also loved the budding relationship with Luc. Jules is a fun character. Can't wait to read the next one.
