If you aren't between the ages of 12 and 17 then don't bother buying these books, on the other hand if you enjoyed reading Harry Potter or Twilight by all means buy these books. All three books are a 'teeth pulling' excruciating. I read them because my niece was so excited about buying them... so I indulged her. It's another horrid teen love triangle filled with the Twilight brutality and violence. Not much imagination was put into these books because they resemble Twilight and Potter sooo much. Not going to beat a dead horse , trust all the one and two star reviews.

A very twisted and read and difficult to put down, leaving you hanging with a twist at the end of nearly every chapter in all three books. It's already haunting enough to conceive this could happen in our world one day, and I pray it never does, however it proves that despite against all realms of fear and oppression is that hope is always alive, and it cannot be contained. The style is very over-detailed with at times several pages describing a single moment in time from the first-person perspective. I also found it repetitive the word "vomit" is used way too many times and for way too make reasons. Of course most of the books is a story of gladiatorial combat and war but I enjoy a good book with a snack at my side and don't need to lose my appetite. If you just want to enjoy the essence of these stories, stick with the movies and move on to the books if you are craving for more details. All in all, it was a one-time gratifying read for me, while the twists keep me hooked and made it hard to put down, I doubt I want to endure a second read of this story with constantly growing despair until hope finally breaks through at the end of the very last chapter.

I only purchased this set because it was on sale for $5; cheap enough that I wouldn't regret spending money if I didn't enjoy it. And boy was I glad I didn't spend more than $5. I had to stop reading by Chapter 5 where the big "cliffhanger" is the two main characters holding hands and the girl kissing him on the cheek (where he had a bruise! OMG!). It became clear at that point that my 27 year old mind couldn't stomach anymore. The prose is OKAY (not great) and the language and descriptions are inconsistent
