The Call of the Spirit’ is a translation from Bengali of the conversations with Swami Akhandananda, a direct disciple of Sri Ramakrishna, as recorded by Swami Niramayananda, a disciple and personal attendant of the Swami. They cover the period from 1935 to 1937, and deal with numerous points connected with the theory and practice of spiritual life, besides several reminiscences of his Master, Sri Ramakrishna.
