About this ebook

ONE OF THE MOST POPULAR FANTASY TALES OF ALL TIME. NOW AN EPIC TV SERIES.

An ancient evil is stirring, intent on the complete destruction of all life. The Druid Allanon sets out on a dangerous journey to save the world, reluctantly aided by Brin Ohmsford, daughter of Wil Ohmsford—for she alone holds the magic power of the wishsong. But a prophecy foretells doom, as evil nurses its plan to trap the unsuspecting Brin into a fate far more horrible than death.

Of the first three books this is my favorite. It felt like a more original telling-.-and Mr. Brooks seemed to have developed his full writing stride as-it-were and come into his own as an author by this point in his newish career. I'm so glad he's kept writing, I still have much reading to do-.-thankfully.

OK, it's true. The ending did not surprise me. But I've read the book over and over and I still get caught up in the sweep of the drama. The pages still turn quickly. I still think we get to the climax of the book too quickly. And I still laugh at the last chapter. Isn't that enough? It is for me. I suspect I'll read it again.
