Discover the tools of leadership to revolutionize your workplace.
Tim Stevens traveled an alternative road—leaving high school and immediately joining a national non-profit organization. He rose quickly through the ranks of leadership, but nine years later left it all behind to help an upstart church get its footing. During the 20 years Stevens served as Executive Pastor at Granger Community Church near South Bend, Indiana, the ministry grew from a congregation of 300 to more than 5,000; from a staff of five to more than 130; with a preschool, restaurant, three campuses and more than 1,800 new churches planted in southern India.
Leaders learn by leading. Stevens knows that creating a healthy and successful organization requires throwing out the conventional instruction manual and writing one that balances practical lessons, spiritual truths, and twenty-first century realities—exactly what you will find in Fairness Is Overrated.
Stevens, now an executive with the Vanderbloemen Search Group, takes his lifetime of service and dispenses with conventional wisdom. Short, powerful chapters end with actionable discussion questions. Four pillars hold up every successful leader: Be a person of integrity. Identify the right people around you. Build a great culture. Lead through crisis.
This is a manual of doing, not talking. No fluff, no stale inspirational platitudes. It’s time to move past planning and kick-start Monday into action.
Two years after the explosive events of OMEGA DOG, Joe Venn, Marine and former Chicago police lieutenant, is heading up the New York Police Department’s elite Division of Special Projects. His job is to investigate crimes of a sensitive, political nature.
While conducting a sting operation to bring down a corrupt landlord with council connections, Venn discovers all is not as it seems. Why has a drug dealer associated with the landlord been shot dead - moments after Venn learned of his existence? And why are Venn’s attempts to investigate the matter further being blocked from on high?
Danny Clune is an amateur rock music historian from England, touring the United States for research purposes. He’s also a liar, a thief, and on the run from Diego Salazar, the most powerful drug baron in Mexico.
And he’s in way over his head...
Venn’s and Clune’s paths collide in New York, and after a series of violent encounters, Venn realizes that in order to get to the bottom of the conspiracy that’s unfolding, he and his sidekicks are going to have to go off the grid.
Which means putting themselves beyond the reach of the law... and in the way of a narcotics cartel so ruthless, it will stop at nothing to achieve its goals.
As events hurtle toward a terrifying climax in South Texas, Venn finds himself having to rely on his wits, on his desperate determination to see the mission through... and on the help of a kid he can never entirely trust.

Purkiss’s job is to track down rogue elements within British intelligence. Summoned to Amsterdam to investigate a cryptic message about one such agent, Darius Pope, Purkiss quickly discovers he’s facing an opponent of unusual ingenuity – and capable of extreme violence. Within hours Pope has disappeared, and two CIA agents are dead.
In Virginia, a young musician, Nina Ramirez, finds herself haunted by watchers, men who seem to be stalking her at every turn. Are the watchers genuine, or products of her increasingly troubled mind?
As the body count rises, Purkiss pursues Pope to the eastern United States, striving to stop him while avoiding a potentially disastrous political confrontation between the CIA and British Intelligence. But Purkiss is faced with two questions. Why is Pope systematically murdering CIA agents? And who will be next?
With assistance from an unexpected source, Purkiss discovers he’s in a race against time before Pope’s and Nina’s destinies converge in New York City. Something he’ll be able to prevent only by uncovering the secret of a monstrous, fifteen-year-old Honduran operation known as Caliban…
Darker, harder-edged and more terrifying than Ratcatcher, Delivering Caliban confronts John Purkiss in ways – physically, emotionally, and morally – he’s never yet experienced.
