I received an advanced reader copy of this book. And woohoo one of the most addictive ones I have read yet. A great bargain as you get a total of 20 books in this set. This was a great book. It kept me reading til late in the night. Have only finished 5 of the books in the box set but am addicted so I just keep reading. And you will too.
I love anthologies. For me these collections give me the chance to test out and discover authors that I've not had experience reading. So Happily Ever Alpha served a dual purpose for me. Reading great stories and trying out a smorgasbord of new authors. It would be so easy for me to break down all twenty authors and their stories, but I just don't have the time. From mysterious, to pompous, from adorable to frustrating and everything in between these authors rocked it. The take away for me is that these alpha men still had a few things to learn. Love is not a weakness, but a force to be reckoned with. Message received and lesson learned. HOT READS COMING THROUGH!
Happily Ever Alpha has all the makings of a true romance fest. The multiple stories by different authors, some well known to me and others a welcome introduction, satisfied this reader's senses in every way. Despite the fact that we live in a day when women have the vote and are entitled to all the privileges once held by men alone, we still have a secret longing to be swept off our feet by a prince on a white horse, to be loved and cherished and to have all our needs catered to. Happily Ever Alpha makes us believe, if only for a little while, that it is all possible. I thoroughly indulged myself reading this book and was grateful for the introduction to new romance writers. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
I have only read Michele de Winton’s novella so far – and you’ll see why – but VALENTINE’S REVENGE is worth this box set! The obscenely talented Michele de Winton is back with a smashing novella! Cara Reynolds was waiting for her mother, Anna Brooks, at a restaurant, when Cara sees who her mother is talking to: Joe Diaz, Cara’s former beau cum enemy. Cara and Joe had a lovely relationship until he accused Cara of double-crossing him when he attempted to take over Anna’s company, and this without even knowing that Anna was Cara’s mother, and Cara left him. If it weren’t bad enough, Joe just bought the company where Cara works. Now, this will be awkward! I don’t believe I’ve ever seen so much story packed into a novella, and written so seamlessly! VALENTINE’S REVENGE is a full novel within around a hundred pages, and what a book it is! Every character is fully fleshed-out and relatable; the story is solid and tightly plotted, and the dialogues are absolutely brilliant. Now, this is why I adore Michele de Winton: her stupendous, unique, colourful and dynamic writing style. How can you not love it when a character is described as “wafting and swanning”? It’s so vivid, and I couldn’t resist smiling, because it’s so representative of Anna. Ms. de Winton possesses a dazzling vocabulary and strings those wonderful words into the most glorious paragraphs. VALENTINE’S REVENGE is a story swirling in colours and movement; it’s very fast-paced; witty and clever; funny and charming, and also genuinely sexy. Joe and Cara are an absolutely fabulous couple, their road to reconciliation is entirely believable, and the romance is perfection itself. Michele de Winton can make the tiniest, most mundane detail a work of wonder. Michele de Winton demonstrates once again that she has the art of writing novellas down pat. VALENTINE’S REVENGE is the best Valentine’s Day gift you could ask for! I love it!
