About this ebook

She came for a ring. She left with a target on her back.

Meghan Murdock just wanted what was hers. A simple exchange—get her mother’s ring back from her paranoid brother and walk away.

But when she steps into his world, she stumbles onto something she was never meant to see: a hit list. A name. A billionaire who isn’t supposed to be alive.

Now, she’s a loose end.

Gable Hawke doesn’t trust anyone, least of all the sister of the man who tried to kill his family. She’s a liability. A problem. One he should eliminate before she gets him killed.

But Meghan isn’t what he expected. And the more he tries to push her away, the harder it gets to resist her sharp mouth, her defiance… and the fact that she might be the only person he can’t control.

The only question is—will she betray him first?

A tale with many twists written by a writer who can hold your attention with no trouble. Gabe Hawkes is a former Marine who has been burned by a bomb blast, while Megan Murdock is the sister of his, and his parents, assailant. Tense and also tender moments flow throughout the story.

Absolutely awful. Please stop writing this garbage. A millionaire falls in love with me in one day after my brother trys to kill his parents. You can't be serious

Overall it was a good story but the main female character always swaying on her feet was a put off. I kept on thinking she must have a medical condition.

About the author

USA Today Bestselling Author, Victoria Pinder grew up in Irish Catholic Boston before moving to the Miami sun. She’s worked in engineering, after passing many tests proving how easy Math came to her. Then hating her life at the age of twenty four, she decided to go to law school. Four years later, after passing the bar and practicing very little, she realized that she hates the practice of law. She refused to one day turn 50 and realize she had nothing but her career and hours at a desk. After realizing she needed change, she became a high school teacher. Teaching is rewarding, but writing is a passion.

During all this time, she always wrote stories to entertain herself or calm down. Her parents are practical minded people demanding a job, and Victoria spent too many years living other people’s dreams, but when she sat down to see what skill she had that matched what she enjoyed doing, writing became so obvious. The middle school year book when someone wrote in it that one day she’d be a writer made sense when she turned thirty.

She’s always been determined. She is amazing, adventurous and assured on a regular basis. Her website is  www.victoriapinder.com.
