About this ebook

She’s far above my pay grade, but I’m always ready for a challenge where a woman is concerned.

Unfortunately, my military past haunts me, waking me up late in the night, causing my world to spin in vicious cycles.

But it’s under control, or so I thought.

The guys at the firehouse aren’t buying my "everything is good" bullshit.

All I want is peace. But it evades me.

Until her.

She’s the cure I’ve been looking for, and the poor beauty is unaware of the fact that she’s going to be mine.

No questions asked. No denials accepted.

And when I start after her, she’s quickly consumed in the heat of our connection.

I just need to shake the past and focus on the future.

Our future.

It’s time to forget my burdens and turn up the heat.

A truly unique and emotion packed read Brea, an art gallery owner, spews her anger at Allen, a firefighter and veteran, and his fellow firefighter when they come in to the gallery after a pipe burst at the fire station and flooded her shop with a good foot of water. As the story progresses views change, a relationship forms, and trying to keep the past buried could destroy everything. Weston Parker addresses a heavy topic in Turn Up the Heat in a way that does not detract from the reality of the situation that many face, while still providing the reader the steamy bad boy romance he is known for. This was a truly unique and emotion packed read about the third member of the Seating Fire Department finding love. I have to wonder if he has any of the remaining single members in his sights to tackle next. I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.

Give me a hero in uniform and I’m a happy reader. Allen is both former military and a first responder so that makes me extra happy to finally read his story. It’s always the quiet ones that surprise you the most. Make you forget that there could be some very deep waters churning below the very stoic mask. I think from the very first book, I was already prepared to love Allen unconditionally. Brea took me a little while to warm up to her. The way she treated the firefighters who were trying to help her made it tough for me to like her and, for a moment, I doubted that she would be a good match to Allen. I am so happy to report that my fears were unfounded. Brea’s just as complex and prickly as he is, and in the end their strengths and vulnerabilities dovetail nicely with one another. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.

A perfect romance! I thought the author did a great job weaving the tough topic of PTSD into the story. I'm not interested in critiquing the accuracy of the portrayal, but it seemed realistic to me. It was sweet the way Brea and the other firefighters rallied around Allen to help him tackle it. The pace of the story and the development of the relationship is spot on, with sizzling chemistry and well-written smexiness. Love conquers all and we get our HEA! I'd recommend this book to any romance lover.
