So Much FUN!
Reviewed in the United States on September 5, 2021
I am laughing and loving this series. Snarky, quirky, attitude, humor, a god in a speedo, a protecting cat that grows in size and ferocious fairies – what more do you need? This is a series that you need to start at the first one and work your way through. There is so much to enjoy here.
Once again Patra is up to her cute butt in issues, bars and a few werewolves (ok it helps that they are hot!). Her best witchy friend is dealing with some new feelings and trying to lead her coven with a rogue witch and her ever-amusing mom (I know there is more to this mom as we keep getting glimpses of her incredible life). Wait – I forgot to mention – DRAGONS!
This series manages to present a good story and food for thought at the same time keeps you reading because it is just FUN!
I had a handle on things, then the dragons showed up.
On the average day, I juggle the human and magical worlds with a reasonable amount of skill. Based on the dude exhaling sparks in front of me, today isn’t most days.
I’m Cleopatra O’Keefe, a one jigger juggernaut holding the line between the worlds while slinging drinks and using a symbiont book to help me parse these human, magical, and omnipotent miscreants. I’m just one woman, people. Reality much?
Dragon-human hookups are impossible, but Sparky is as real as I am. Poseidon and his ratty red speedo are MIA, and the incoming info all points to the dragons. My question is, are dragons the bad guys or are Olympians pulling my chain? Their track record kinda sucks.
The Speedo is down. Crud. Day 6,935 of the weirdest job on the planet.
Winnie Winkle began writing as a storyteller for ‘The World of Magic, New Mexico’ before branching out into other genres. Published in Paranormal / Sci-Fi Romance, Humorous Fantasy, and Literary Fiction, Winnie’s newest series drops readers into a fantastical beach world filled with humans, magicals, and a speedo clad Greek god, then takes everyone on a snark filled romp of a read. Boogie Beach, Salt Shaken and Speedo Down published in June, July and August of 2021.
She comports herself as a fabulous Central Florida broad who swills bourbon, likes dogs and cats, and practices yoga, but not with any degree of grace. Supporting live local music is a pretty big deal to her, so if you pass a gravestone that admonishes, ‘Go see the band and hit the tip jar’, it’s probably hers. But, since she’s not dead yet, she’ll keep penning fun stuff to rock your reading chair.
Winnie’s lived in Florida for over 30 years and splits her time between Daytona Beach Shores and the Mount Dora area. She prefers writing beach-side as much as she can because, if we’re baring our souls here, the ocean is a mighty muse and there’s only so much you can expect from coffee.
Her books are published in a variety of reading device formats, as well as in paperback. Follow her on Goodreads, Instagram, Twitter, or visit her Amazon author page.
Winnie is most active on her newsletter, so be sure to sign up, visit her blog, and join her page and group Facebook. Stop by and say hello! There’s plenty to check out and don’t miss the Sunday Snippets, an excerpt from one of her stories.
