Jackie loves hanging out with her handsome, charming, eccentric friend, so she agrees on a trip back to her hometown to look for Mr. Forrest's book. She finds it in the White Springs library, and just as Orne hoped, opens a door to another dimension, one altered from the world she knows. Not just altered, but better. Her career is a success, her old teacher is alive and well, and her relationship with Orne is so much more intimate. Her own world is so drab and hopeless by contrast, she's tempted to stay.
But does she truly belong in this other world? What happens to this world's Jackie if she stays? And what will happen to her, if she refuses to go back through that door?
Well, she would show him. She would do everything in her power to see that this marriage didn’t go through. Even if she had to run away.
Those were her feelings on the matter, that is until she set eyes upon her handsome intended, and he set her heart rate soaring and a tingling sensation vibrating through the pit of her pelvic region.
Unbeknownst to her at the time, there was another determined person to put a stop to this impending event, and she would do everything that was within her craft powers and beyond to destroy this happy ending. Even if it meant sending this unwanted rival to a different time where Colwyn Campbell could never get his hands on her. Or so she thought.
A powerful and opportune source of help comes his way in the form of a hermit sorcerer who has given up on mankind until he learns of this young man’s plight. As the events play out, Colwyn faces an impossible task in his same estimation of traveling to an unfamiliar future in a race against time to convince his one true love that she belongs with him in a different world.
All Leah wanted was a little gallantry. But in this day and age, chivalry was most definitely dead. If only there were a way to travel back in time and snag her very own duke.
Avery Russell was polishing some boots when a woman fell through the bedchamber mirror into his arms. All he could make out from her breathless babbling was some nonsense about "my one true love, Your Grace." Clearly the chit was mad if she couldn't tell a valet from a duke!
As much as Avery wanted to give in and give her a good tumble, he knew it wouldn't be proper. No, he'd take as long as necessary to convince Leah that sometimes a duke just won't do.
