Traditional methods of combating plagiarism are proving to be outdated. Our goal is to shift thinking from punishment to understanding. This textbook is an attempt to understand plagiarism not as a crime, but as a symptom. We analyze it through the prism of memetics and propose a new, integrated approach —Trial Psychology (from Lat.trial--test tentative first proving and Greek.logos- word, meaning).
We view plagiarism as an initial, necessary stage in the process of establishing authorship, which we call "creative mutation". This shifts the focus from imitation to authentic development.
