About this ebook

The women’s league is in the house! And Brooklyn will never be the same again for Anton Bayer and the team…

This is my last chance to ditch my playboy reputation and finally fulfill my potential. So I’ve made three rules for our biggest season yet: no boozing, no women, and no scandals.

Especially that last thing.

So who do I befriend on the very first day back at the rink? An amazing female hockey player. I want Sylvie in a way that’s more than just friendly. I crave her. But I have a championship to win, and so does she.

Then she gets her heart broken by my teammate, and I make the foolish mistake of comforting her in the best way I know how. Our night together sets off a string of sins.

Nobody can know about our affair, especially my overprotective teammate. I can’t let anyone see into my greedy little heart. Not even her.

The things I want from her, and the things we’ve already done? If anyone knew, there’d be bombshells.

Contains: a defenseman with dreamy blue eyes, a female goalie with bad ideas, a major battle of the sexes and a swimming pool scene...

5 Star Review of Bombshells (Brooklyn Bruisers #8) by Sarina Bowen AUDIO REVIEW: This is Brooklyn Bruisers Anton Bayer and Sylvie’s story and is one that I enjoyed. Anton has sworn off women, determined to avoid scandal and focus on his hockey. We have had glimpses of Anton before and he has always been a player and I was excited when I learnt that Bombshells was his story. That is until he meets Sylvie a member of the newly formed woman’s Bombshells team. He is attracted to her from the start and when she is in need of comfort he lends a shoulder and so much more. They really shouldn’t become involved but somethings cannot be helped. However, the last thing either of them can afford is for their relationship to be discovered. I really liked these two for one another, they are quirky and unique and the banter between them is witty. The narrators Patrick Zeller and Desireé Ketchum are both new to me and I have to say they did a good job bringing this story to life for me. They were easy to listen to with pleasing voices that did justice to Anton and Sylvie characters. I loved that playboy Anton can finally see himself having a forever with a woman and Sylvie was just the woman for him. Together these two are invincible. It was also fun catching up with some familiar faces and I look forward to reading more in the series. This is a steamy, sweet, low angst, fun story that ticked the boxes for me.

This book was everything I have come to expect from the very talented Ms Bowen. I love spending time with the Brooklyn Bruisers but Bombshells takes us in another direction by introducing us to the new woman’s hockey team now attached the Bruisers. This is Anton and Sylvie’s friends to lovers story and right from the first page you know you are reading a very special story because this book will stay with long after the final word has been read. Anton is a player on and off the ice but his world is turned upside down when he meets Sylvie a member of the newly formed Bombshells, the attraction is instant and the chemistry is smouldering but more importantly a friendship is formed when she needs a shoulder to lean on. They both know crossing the line could be harmful for their careers but out hearts often rule our heads and that means keeping their relationship a secret.... This book ticked all my boxes, I swooned, I smiled and I sighed as I joined Anton and Sylvie on their journey, i loved watching Anton go from a player to a one woman man and I adored meeting the Bombshells as well catching up with familiar faces from previous books. I’m really excited for the rest of this series and I can’t wait to see who’s story is next. This is a sweet, steamy, fun read that I highly recommend to all romance lovers.

Bombshells is hockey romance at its finest. It has everything you want in a sports romance, and nobody writes hockey romance the way Sarina Bowen does. It’s her super power. And with the introduction of Bombshells, Brooklyn’s women’s pro hockey team, she took her game to another level. Bombshells is simply unputdownable. ‘I really hadn’t anticipated that my brain could be stolen by the goalie on day one.’ Bombshells is Anton Bayer’s story. He’s a charming, fun-loving guy who’s determined to make some changes in his life to focus on his hockey career. His only goal is to prove to his coach, and himself, that he can fulfill his potential. But he wasn’t counting on the Bombshells’ goalie to detonate his plan. ‘No other man has ever made me feel this way—like I’d walk through fire for just one more kiss.’ Sylvie’s dream of playing hockey professionally came true out of the blue. She packed her things and moved to Brooklyn from Toronto with little time to make any plans. But living in Brooklyn would give her the chance to finally be with the guy she had always thought was “the one”, Bryce Campeau, Anton’s friend and teammate. Except things didn’t go the way she expected. There’s a lot to love about Bombshells. The writing is fantastic—as always, the story flows and progresses perfectly, and the characters are lovable, three dimensional and relatable. Both Anton and Sylvie are the kind of people you want to be friends with. All the Bruisers are. There is a small town vibe in the way the Bruisers are like a close-knit family. You also get to meet a few of the Bombshells players to make things interesting for the future. The potential is endless and really exciting. I really loved the way the story evolves. It works perfectly as a standalone, and the progression is exactly right. The way Anton and Sylvie’s friendship grows and becomes something else is delicious. Their banter, the tension, the emotional turmoil, the longing... it is extremely well done and so addictive. There is very little angst but there are emotional aspects that give the story, and the characters, depth and intensity. And there is nothing to worry if you don’t like love triangles because this one is definitely not that kind of triangle. It’s actually extremely well done and very original in my opinion. ‘In my whole life I’ve never gotten turned on by somebody’s hockey skills. But I guess there’s a first time for everything.’ Bombshells is intensely hockey-y. I know nothing about hockey, but the way Sarina Bowen describes it brings it to life in my mind. The action on the ice gives the story an edge that complements the action off the ice. It’s perfectly balanced. Then there’s the whole women’s sports aspect that is discussed in the book, and it makes the point of how insanely difficult it is for women to be professional athletes in a very organic way. I loved seeing a woman shine in this book as an athlete, specially as a hockey player. It’s simply outstanding.
