Ratings and reviews

Grimnirs is the third book in the Runes series. Although this book takes place after the conclusion of Immortals, the perspective changes from that of Raine in the first two books to that of Cora, Raine's friend. Cora is fresh out of the mental hospital as she has struggled to deal with her recent ability to see ghosts. As we know from Immortals, while she was away she had been impersonated by Maliina. Then Echo enters her life, thinking he knows her, and her world changes again. Unlike Raine and Torin's clean romance, Echo and Cora's romance is very steamy. I haven't read the clean version, but there is one available for those who prefer to not read a hotter version.

Wow! I loved this story. Cora is much more developed than in the first two books, and Echo... well, he made the story worthwhile! It's the details incorporated into the story line that make this series so enjoyable to read. I really liked how this book wrapped up so many of what I felt were "loose threads" from the previous two books while leaving a couple of new threads hanging for the continuation of the series. Be warned - this book makes the jump from YA to adult reading. There are definitely scenes I would not be comfortable with my daughter reading.

A great addition to the Runes series. This story, told mainly from Cora's POV, adds depth to her character and shows us a different side to Cora. Her grit, humour and perseverance as she copes with an emotional roller coaster, the stress of seeing souls and with being hunted endears you to what was previously not one of my favourite characters. You cannot help but be drawn along with Cora as she falls for that sexy bad boy Echo, feel Eirik's hurt at being rejected once again and Echo's frustration, fear and vulnerability as he in turn falls for Cora. You thought Torin was hot, well just wait until you meet Echo! The chemistry this author creates between the characters and the great plot draws you in and keeps you turning the pages. I look forward to reading the next in the series and, hopefully more of Cora and Echo

  Ednah is the author of The Guardian Legacy series, a YA fantasy series about children of the fallen angels, who fight demons and protect mankind.
