About this ebook

When magical midlife hits, you lose some, you win some, and life sure can get interesting.

Cassie’s ex-husband kept the Boston townhouse and the friends ... she kept the dog, the midlife hot flashes, and the car, which she uses to drive the heck out of town on a mission to rediscover herself and her Texas roots.

The supernatural surprises begin during Cassie’s drive south when her Pekingese starts talking and a ghostly gramma on the run from the law appears in her backseat. Wondering whether it’s perimenopause or just her mind playing nasty tricks on her, Cassie tightens her grip on the steering wheel ... and her sanity and keeps driving.

Once the paranormal po-po begin tailing her and a pair of trolls try to kill her, Cassie realizes her ghostly grandmother isn’t the only one in danger--and her brand-new witchy magic is the only chance she has of staying alive and clearing her grandmother’s name. Otherwise, her fresh start on life will be over before it begins and her newfound, but very dead gramma will wind up in ghost jail for a murder she didn't commit.

There’s a cast full of quirky characters, including a pair of sassy, snarky magical dogs, a ghostly gramma with a warrant (or two), a powerful Voodoo Queen, a couple of quite nice zombies, a teeny tiny fairy assassin with a drinking problem and a deadly power, a hot supernatural cop, and a pair of dangerous but dumb troll hitmen, to name just a few.

The Maple Muffin Murder, Book One in the Kitchen Witchery series, features tons of humor, plus new mid-life beginnings, old family secrets, forever friendships, and a touch of romance, along with a massive dose of mystery, magic, mayhem, and more. Oh, and a whole bunch of maple muffins. Don't forget the maple muffins.

In the face of divorce and death, a middle aged woman discovers a few family legacies, and faces the possibility of joining the ghostly members if her family. A whole new magical world awaits - if she can survive the tricky bits of a difficult introduction to it. Magic, mayhem, precocious pets and familiars, and so many surprises - this serms like a world filled with adventure and drama - it seems like fun - when it's not deadly.

I love that this was about a menopausal woman 🤣🤣being one myself, I greatly appreciate all of it. This was the funniest book. It was so dang good! I absolutely love Xavier. I think he's my favorite. The characters are just phenomenal. The storyline is great...I just couldn't put it down. I can't wait for the next one!. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
