I really enjoyed this second-chance hockey romance by Rebecca Jenshak. My all-time favorite character of hers, Maverick, almost lost his top spot. I just loved Tyler. He was sweet, caring, and somewhat lost when he took in his little sister. He suddenly became a “father” overnight. I loved the dynamics of his relationship with his sister (lost, didn’t know what to do, but learning along the way), the team, and Piper. I loved how his team stepped up to become big brothers to his sister, and how they acted towards her. They were what I would want in big brothers. You also got to see sides of them you wouldn’t have seen otherwise. Tyler and Piper were together when they were 18. He broke up with her, but didn’t really want to and has always wanted his second chance. He finally gets it. He adores Piper, and truly does love her. I loved reading about them two and watching their story unfold. I love how open Tyler is throughout the book and not afraid to admit to how he is feeling, even to his hockey friends. “Because I’ve missed you every day for four years and because now that I’ve seen you again, I can’t imagine another day going by where I can’t.” Swoon! Definitely worth the read, and if you want a little more Maverick, you will also get that in this book! Watch out though, you might just fall in love with Tyler a little bit more. Maybe.

4.5 Beautiful & Heartfelt Stars! I loved sweet, funny, emotional and steamy second chance romance! Tyler is enjoying his rookie season with the Wild Cats. It is something he has worked hard to accomplish. Tyler is shocked when his 17 year old sister, Everly, shows up on his doorstep looking for a place to stay. He doesn't know the first thing about how to be a parent to a teen girl, they have some bumps in the road, but he is determined to give her the life she deserved. When she has some trouble at school, Tyler is shocked that Everly's teacher is his first love, Piper, and the one he is heartbroken over pushing her away. Piper has moved on from the crippling heartbreak when Tyler broke up with her. She has moved on and has the job she loves. She doesn't want anything to do with Tyler but she wants to help Everly find her way to a happy life. So when Tyler asks her to stay with them when he is on the road, she agrees. They both feel the love that they tried to bury years ago, but as they spend time together, they learn to like each other as they are now and fall deeper in love. But what happens when the same reasons Tyler let her go the first time, are an issue again? Will he be able to fight for her or will he break both their hearts for good? There is so much to love about this touching romance! From the way that his teammates band together to help Everly thrive, to the way Everly and Tyler bond after living apart for so long, to the beautiful way Tyler and Piper found their way back to each other, and their unconditional love and support of each other. I was completely captivated by Tyler and Pipers beautiful, and heartfelt love story!

This is the 2nd book in this series and its a second chance at love for hockey player Tyler with his high school ex, Piper, who is now at the end of her college career and student teaching, which brings her back into Tyler's life. Tyler's baby sister is 18 and ran away from home to him. He now is responsible for her and that means he has enrolled her in a prep type of school. His sister, Everly is a mess and he gets called into a meeting and thats when he meets her new teacher, Piper. To Tyler she was his ONE, but he had to break her heart when he wanted her to enjoy her last year of high school and college. Now he sees his opening and he is going to take it. But he has one problem and that is, she is dating another guy. Tyler is really an awesome guy. He broke Piper's heart but with the best of intentions. He is trying to be the best big brother there is. And his friends and teammates are helping him take care of his sister. Piper was pretty great too and I love that she loved Tyler before he was famous. She is also pretty broke and she used to have family money. But she has adjusted super well and I loved how she appreciated everything she had and was careful that people is what is important to her rather than money. She has good friends and she is good to them and I liked that they appreciated her and saw how awesome she was. This was a wonderful second chance romance. The characters were really awesome characters who are doing best they can with the life they have. This was a really heart warming second chance at love and life for Tyler and Piper and even Everly. I loved how they had some really awesome friends who became more like family.
