About the author

Sofia Abdullah was born and raised in Singapore. Of Malay and Javanese descent, Sofia went to an all-girls school in Katong, the Peranakan part of Singapore. She spent her childhood in Marine Parade, by the seaside. Sofia attended university in England on a scholarship. Her work took her to Germany, India and then the USA. She is now an advocate for children’s rights and works on the issues of child sex trafficking and child sexual abuse.
