Underwhelmed. Many of the recipes are ones using products you make with other recipes in the book...so you spend most of your time paging past those recipes in order to find the actual canning ones. Some of the other recipes require you either use commercially prepared canned tomatoes or take the time to can the tomatoes only to open your jars to make a meal you then can - what a waste of lids! They don't offer any alternatives which use fresh tomatoes. Additionally, they've 'tweaked' some of the basics like tomato juice. The recipe adds a beet. I use my tomato juice to make base gravy for curry sauces and chili - I have no need for beet flavor or sweetness in those recipes. There are also no options to omit anything (I get it's canning so ph is important but when they add non-traditional items there should at least be the basic version included as well) so if you don't like eggplant in your spaghetti sauce, for example, you'll have to look elsewhere for your recipe. Overall very disappointing.
