About this ebook

The sixth book in the NYT bestselling Expanse series, Babylon's Ashes has the galaxy in full revolution, and it's up to the crew of the Rocinante to make a desperate mission to the gate network and thin hope of victory. Now a Prime Original series.

HUGO AWARD WINNER FOR BEST SERIES

A revolution brewing for generations has begun in fire. It will end in blood.

The Free Navy -- a violent group of Belters in black-market military ships -- has crippled the Earth and begun a campaign of piracy and violence among the outer planets. The colony ships heading for the thousand new worlds on the far side of the alien ring gates are easy prey, and no single navy remains strong enough to protect them.

James Holden and his crew know the strengths and weaknesses of this new force better than anyone. Outnumbered and outgunned, the embattled remnants of the old political powers call on the Rocinante for a desperate mission to reach Medina Station at the heart of the gate network.

But the new alliances are as flawed as the old, and the struggle for power has only just begun.

Babylon's Ashes is a breakneck science fiction adventure following the bestselling Nemesis Games.

Ive read every book in the series prior to this one. All of them were excellent with a crisp narrative interesting characters and attention to the smallest details. This one fails to further character develop introduces no new interesting facets to the overall story and our "HEROES" have become stagnant sterotypes. This book has the feel of being hastily written to fulfill some contractual obligation.

It didn't feel like much really advanced in the expanse universe with this book. There are some interesting plot elements that don't really get explored (no character arcs based on characters living on earth for example that get much more than a chapter) and an ending that was a bit of an easy out that felt a bit contrived even though it does develop some understanding around the nature of the gates. There are a lot of stories to be told in the expanse, not sure this is the best of them.

Good story, more of The Expanse universe shows up and more players than before it seems. Did not enjoy this as much as previous books in the series. Felt a little bit like a filler and follow up from last book which I suppose was necessary from the story perspective. Felt like you could skip this in the series and not really miss anything. Still worth a once read through for fans. Like me.
