About the author
Jean C. Joachim, parent of two sons, spent sixteen years as a board member of the parents associations of New York City elementary, middle, and high schools. Naturally drawn to fund-raising, she participated in many committees and chaired a few as well.
In each school, Jean was part of a team that created ground-breaking fund-raising events. It wasn’t long before fund-raising captured her heart. It wasn’t about the money but the sense of community it built within the school and among the parents, teachers, administrators, and students. Besides, it was a lot of fun.
She believes her efforts to help her sons’ schools impacted their lives in a positive way and supported students who would otherwise have been left wanting.
This second edition to her first book on fund-raising has been crafted with the same intention as the first book—to share what she’s learned through the years with schools around the world.
