About this ebook

New York heiress Louisa Thurston-Reid has seven days to make her marriage real.

She has traded her millions for an English peerage and married the dashing yet distant Marquess of Granborough, determined to make their match a success despite knowing almost nothing about the man she married.

For Giles, Lord Granborough, the arrangement is purely transactional. Forced to sell his hand in marriage for an American fortune, he longs to survive the honeymoon voyage and return to the childhood sweetheart who holds his affection. His plan seems foolproof—until he and Louisa embark across the Atlantic.

But sharing a bed aboard the steamship, he finds his innocent bride far more tempting than he anticipated. As they sail towards England, the boundaries between duty and desire blur, and Giles discovers that his stubborn heart is no match for a lady hell-bent on making him hers.

A steamy marriage-of-convenience romance about the honeymoon that changes everything.

Most Victorian romances deal with poor girls, either socially or financially, and wealthy, titled men. This tale turns that meme on its head by featuring an impoverished, indebted Marques heading to NYC to snare a wealthy American woman who is determined on a marriage of partners filled with mutual respect, honor and fidelity. Since he is happy with his mistress, he plans a marriage of convenience. The Yankee suspects him, and plans to use the week long trip to England to guarantee her future goes her way. It becomes a comedy of cultural clash. The writing is quality with well- drawn principals, a cleanly developed plot, and enough emotional connections to keep the reader involved. History lovers will especially enjoy the insights to turn-of-the-century mores in both England and the US.

I will start with men are stupid. this book is primarily about what one thinks they want and how those thoughts change when exposed to different things. I loved the heroine, young and inexperienced but daring and inventive!
